I've done it once a while ago - rolled down my window, said in my typical Cape Town style "ek se, my ma se kind, daais 'n lekka bike - wag daar, ek willit check". He said 'kykie, dis my bra s'n. Told him to wait - hy verdwyn daar by Gympie / Sussex in Main Road. Have not seen him since. Do not confront these okes - they have nothing to lose other than a stolen bike!

Well done to everyone! Iw as cheering you guys on in Suurbraak on my roadbike. To all of you who reminded me that I was riding in the wrong direction - i got the message .

This is getting out of hand - not even safe in numbers! As long as there is a market for stolen stuff, this nonsense will not stop. Last week sometime (outside Maynard Mall in Wynberg main road) a lady offered to sell me a bike (a white Giant road bike). I was stopping at the red robot (that's true!). The "owner" of the guy hide it on the back of the white bakkie.Told me the "larnie" gave it to them after they did a job in Constantia Yeah rite. Gonna check if they are there tonite on my way home.

Agree - unreasonable to expect him to attend at such short notice. What are the chances the guilty riders would have owned up? Mr Chairman, thank you for the reply.

Sorry to hear that - will defintely look out for the bikes - close to me in Southfield. Maybe check Cash Crusaders and surrounding shops in Plumstead
