Maxxis says one should not use a latex/ammonia based sealant on their tyres. Glycol must be used or else the inside of the tyre will de-laminate. Stan's must therefore not be used at all.

When sanding pads, place sanding paper on flat surface and run the pads in a figure 8 across paper until gloss dissapears and pad surface smoothed out

I don't use a Thule. Suspect it will still warm up/leave black diesel residue. Suggest that the bend should be absolutely 90 degree facing down towards the road surface. As you can see mine was cut at about 50/60 degrees

Make sure to specifiy stainless or 3CR12 else you end up with rust

Oeps best option to go for a new/replacement fork. Should you again fit Fox, do yourself a favour and replace the standard fox seals with Enduro.

Bought these yesterday. Instructions say left 29 and right 26. Not sure what it means.

First make sure that the rim is centered across the hub and the hub centred between the locknuts before adding any spacers/washers

If you have enough "mula" to buy low end now, soon to be replaced with something better/more suitable and then to start a process of component upgrade, then go for it (personal preference GT). I suggest you rather throw in a few more Randellas and buy a little higher up the bike-chain.
