Alot of rain predicted for the next 7 days, we had 30mm in 30min yesterday afternoon in Vereeniging, 50km from the Lido. I will watch the weather in the week and decide on the day..... Not doing that race in the mud again... not fun!!!

Winners usually finish in about 1:50 area at 28-29 Avg. so its flat and fast

Any one else here doing this race in 30 days time???

I did this a year ago.... Stopped drinking for a month, no coke, sweets and crap. started riding everyday... Still had my 3 meals a day, didnt cut out any foods, ate exactly like I used to but the portions were alot smaller and no snacks in between... I lost 8kg in the 1st month. 1 year later I am 20kg down, drinking beer, lots of it, and eating anything I want, but the weight is staying off. I also avg around 300km a week

Item: CSA Membership, R 75,00 Item: Provincial Affiliate Fee - Southern Gauteng, R 30,00 Item: Road Cover, R 60,00 I just renewed mine. took the road cover, geez its R165 for the year. its nothing. I was asked 3 times last year to show my licence (Day licence woudlve cost R105 for the 3) And i belong to Bryton/USN, which is R1200 a year (but includes bib short/shirt and USN Starter kit) I do archery and shoot guns, those alone amount to over R3000 for the year (Club, provincial, diff bodies), So an extra R165 aint gonna kill me

Fedgroup Itec been doing 5 hour rides the last 2 weeks, so they def building up. But no word on who is riding the epic... All on twitter

Good Race. BUT if it Rains. its a nightmare. guys draging there bikes by the front wheels to the nearest water puddle to clear the mud... LOL I fell 7 times last year, bike gos all over the place. I will watch the weather the week before, if theres heavy rain in the week I'll rather skip this year then, bike really takes a pounding. If its dry, its fast, very fast. The winners usually avg 28 -30...

Who cares about the medal if you are not 1st.... everything from 2nd down is a loser. I go to have a good time and ride my bike. I never take a medal, just a waste of space!

Anything with 2 wheels. Been doing it since i was 7. give me any bike and 10min later i can't keep the front wheel down.

Gopros have been banned at all the races ive been to this year. only handlebars were accepted

Anything that is within 100-150km from me. I like to try any new races! Listening to people on the hub don't always help. Half say its a crap race, others say it aint. So I rather go try for myself... Then I can say its Crap or not!
