  1. Your chainline has probably altered with the new crank. You may need to add or remove spacer shims to correct it.

Issue at the rear on shifting.....maybe check b screw and adjust it just enough for the big cog to work properly.

Shims? Where? I have a zee crank which came with a spacer (which looks like a thick washer) between the spider and chain ring.

The B screw.... I'll try that.

  2. So I went 1x10 from 2x10.

I swapped our the sram crank and bb for shimano zee crank with kitted narrow wide chain ring.

Here I get a sound similar to that of a dry bb bearing or when hubs needs a service.... I dunno..

    Hard to explain.

Then on my sram 1050 cassette I included a 16T and 40T wolftooth range extender.

Oh, and I bought a new 1071 hollow pin chain.

So... my cassette has about 1400km on it.

The problem I now have is that sometimes the chain goes like "gagaga" when I shift. Sounds like I'm going to break something. Usually when shifting to heavier gear. Can't say exactly which gear though.

    What's up with that?

  3. Why such an aggressive tyre at the rear?

To tell you the truth I wanted an ardent, but hard to find in 26. So I did the next best thing...

Moved my front tyre to the rear and new front tyre on.

Yes, for winter makes sense to go aggressive back and front... like ibex b&f or dampf b&f, or high roller 2.

But for now, tyres are expensive so ill work with what I have....

  4. How's a pic or 2, those must be pretty enormous, do they run true to size?

    Pic... I'll take one soon.

True to size.... I dunno, they do measure 55mm according to the stated 55/559 specification, and that's on a 19mm internal width rim.

  5. With all the "hype" about dropper posts And how great they are( I've been looking for one but broken gearbox on my car has placed it on hold). I am however starting to reconsider as a see quite a lot of droppers for sale I am classifieds.

Yeah.... I'll only sell mine if I get one with more drop for the same price. I have the giant switch contact. Think 2014 version.

    It's a good investment.

  6. Wassup dude!!I sure did and only a 1/4 way in when it really starts getting rocky. Is a bummer , but was rad none the less and rode the rest on my rim - yeeeeehaaaa.Just had so much fun dude.Say, you were the dude with long beard right?Got some crazy drift in everywhere ;)

Yep that would be me... you probably talking about yourself when saying drifting. If you referring to me, then I'd rather call It "dragging the brakes" haha

I enjoyed reading that hey, the black looks very nice.
  8. I've been to Lebanon with that forest, rocky narrow singletrack just above the forest, and flat singletrack toward the dam.

But what and where is that porcupine place and that other section you guys hike'd up to get to that white dry area.?

  9. I've been really impressed with my exo 2.5 DHF, my next front tyre if I'm lucky will be a DHF II or HR II.

Currently running a HR 2.35 supertacky out back. Feels good and stable on everything. But maybe a bit sluggish, so next for the back I would like to try an ardent or ardent II if they make those. Maybe by then aggressive 26er tyres will be available again in SA[emoji4]
