It is a great ride and trust me rather have overcast weather than the sweltering Durban heat.

My wife and i ride our tandem on all the road races, she is also a fairly strong rider, we are lucky as she really enjoys the tandem, however i made the mistake of buying a mtb tandem and then the FUN began......She hated it due to the technical aspect and all the getting on and off on tight switchbacks and really rocky sections etc, needless to say we did 2 mtb races and sold the tandem mtb. The road is way easier as you are nearly all the time on nice straight roads etc, but on a mtb tandem it becomes a different ball game all together.

Giba is the only real trail in the area. If you are willing to get up to Waterfall there is a great route up there , speak to the guys at Concept cyclery in waterfall they will give you directions .

It was Burry`s birthday yesterday and he rode in his board shorts and t-shirt, he had a nice chilled social ride and was full of smiles at the finish.......BTW.....Cherise was in long before him,

I know , i know........I am not strong on the hills, i just want to know which size wheels roll easier UPHILL

I know this has been discussed on numerous occasions, but please enlighten me one more time. Is it easier climbing hills on 26 inch wheels or 29 inch ?? Remembering i am a newbie and not very strong on the uphills. I have ridden both and the 26 inch seems easier for me, or is it just a mental block ?

Must say i prefer the cold to the heat, but the mud now that`s a different story....

i`m in..............Doing the 45km on Saturday. Make sure you have wet weather gear it`s going to be a wet one...

I was there, the guys back wheel was really smashed properly.....This is at the same place where Evan was hit by a buck last year.....The animals really dont like us invading their space at Albert falls...

AGREED, I think the 27.5 would be better suited to his riding style and body size etc.
