Sorry but I may be missing something. Help a dommetjie out. Why must a pay? I do not have an issue with Ads. I am happy to pay a % of sale price to advertise an item for sale. I will not pay a subscription to a forum and/or a sales platform. I understand ad spend is going to drop over the near to medium term. But rather get the advertisers to pay a % of sales revenue. This way you get to see how effective your sales platform is. My 2c's. It just does not make sense to me as a forum user.

I seem to be missing the point about touring bikes etc. I have done a few long trips Knysna to Ctn 200km+ per day unsupported using the same MTB I did the k2c with so I don't see why there is a need for a specific bike. Just pack and ride the damn thing. Backpack and saddlebag is all you need. Unless you are going to be doing 4 month tour, but then everything changes. Or am I missing something? We are planning a ride to or from Knysna again as soon as this lockdown is lifted.

I heard that we only have 1 x C130 that is functional. Is this true?

Together with most of the upcoming pro peleton tours?

The easiest is to stop the easy workout and save it then start the hard workout and save that. Disco takes the best workout for points.

I was not at the race, but those trails are not really technical. This seems to be the problem with SA MTB, every trail is getting dumbed down to cater for the masses so when there is (very seldom) a route that is close to what MTB should be there is an issue. Not criticising your old man, he is used to what he is used to, but the guys like Tygerberg MTB club (and other trial sites with huge amount of members) are not doing enough to create trails that challenge riders; so they never get the skills needed. Even worse is that they mis-grade the trails so people ride these trails and think they are capable when they are not. Flame suit on.

What was the reason for walking this section? Gradient seems fine?

On W2W I think they started 2 hrs after the last batch and still the caught some of the plodders. But that worked well (I was with the plodders) as there was no major influence effect on the riding. That is the way to do it.

Noted, but as indicated on the TBMTB threat, this are better mtb trails as less are manicured. So horses for courses. However, these trails are all maximum blue trails so so they are accessible to anyone wanting to get better at MTB. It would be a shame id these trails are also dumbed down to the extent the the Tygerberg trails have been. Especially considering that Tygerberg are not interested in entertaining requests from the members regarding making more challenging (skills wise) trails. #keepbottiesreal

Well what I have is MTB - KCMC chain, Sunrace 11/50 11 Speed cassette, Absolute black 36 oval front chainring. 3,800km. started getting sloppy shifting between 11/13 and 15/13. so tried to swap chains. Oops. So back on the old chain with sloppy shifting till everything dies. I will just deal with it and save ZAR.

I have done 3500+ km on my whatever chain, sunrace 50-11 with a 35 up front. I cant change the chain now as it jumps, but is fine with the old chain. I just have to deal with sloppy shifting. So for now that is ok. I recon another few k km to go yet. Will have to change drive-train before around the Pot I think.

So my Discover web interface is still broken AND they allocation of how many points we needs as well as who can earn points is still broken. E.g. The total points required is for Main member + 2, but only main member + 1 can earn points. So at this rate the total number of points needed far outstrips the number of points on offer. Has been like this since 1st Jan and they keep saying it will be rectified etc, etc.

It looks like this year it will be better for businesses than last year, but still a pain in the ass and too many if you ask me. Last year you took 6 days off and got a 2 week break. That was a mess of note.

So my status is Gold, even though I have been diamond for the last 4 years (apparently a glitch, they refreshed the info now it appears correct in some view and not others) We are 1 main member, a spouse and a 20 year old dependant. We require 100,000 points to get to gold/diamond. Where do they get this number from? (they also do not know) So we carry more points than for main +1 but less than for main + 2 but my son cannot earn any points for anything (fitness, health checks, screenings) except Vaccinations. They do not know why. WTF. Ho well, as soon as I get my 5 year payout for being diamond on my life-cover everything is going to stop as it is way more expensive than a normal life cover product and the hoops you have to jump through just get more and more. In my opinion, any discovery product with an integrator is a hiding to nowhere. Salesman got me through and through as I did not fully understand the implications, so my fault. But I see trouble brewing for Discovery if they keep up this strangeness.
