  1. Bishops teacher not far behind.
  2. I fail to see the difference in the semantics or meaning of the two statements. One just gets to the point sooner.
  3. Sub 12 is easy on a 4 week program even with 12kg overweight. So just get the weight down and sub 11 should be doable with sub 12 training. I am in the same boat, I am just 20+ kg over weight.
  4. So I am a bit lost here, sorry must be the age..... How does math become more or less difficult? Surely the rules are the same and the calculations are the same, or am I missing something?
  5. And the half hour stops need to be removed. You can stop for as long as you want but the clock keeps ticking. The way it always was and the way it always should be. It is also going to be interesting to see how the times change after the roadworks are completed. Even with the hour lunch breaks I foresee times getting to be 30 to 45 minutes longer at the pointy end. This will also change the team dynamic. Do you drop a strong rider early on with a puncture knowing he can make it back in the 1st or 2nd half hour free period.
  6. That is exactly why trail grading must be consistent. That way you ALWAYS KNOW if you can ride a trail. Damn the amount of people walking the W2W "Technical" sections was scary.......
  7. Well it is only about 180km and then it is still broken up into 3 rides with half hour feed-fests in between. It is not a DC in the true sense of the word any more. If you can do the Argust in under 4 hrs you should do this in under 8.5. So no one really worries about it any more. it is a social ride. The racing snakes will race and the rest will ho hum....
  8. Yes but it also goes all the way through Stb to Malmesbury and beyond and there are way more dangerous places on the R44 (even with a huge shoulder) than the Clarens Drive section.
  9. Based on your statement, the responses were mostly not offering an opinion rather stating FACT. You opinion is wrong Period. We were trying to help you see the light. What was wrong you may ask? 1. You indicated that you were unhappy because you wanted a supplier to give you something outside of your contract with them. 2. You did not consider the reasons for the terms of the contract between yourself and the supplier. 3. You flamed a supplier for this on social media. 4. You continue to hold such opinion. I suppose it is what it is in this snowflake keyboard worrier world we live in today.
  10. You did not get your free burger on the day it was allocated? Clear that up for me please sir. I thought you wanted to get the previous days burger together with the current days burger. Remember they would have prepped for the number of burgers scheduled for that day. If you did not take the burger on day 1 you are in fact causing them to create waste. That patty cannot be saved for another day as it would have been thawed and hygiene regulations would not have allowed them to keep it for reuse the next day. Why would they need to prep, because if you had to wait half an hour for a burger to be prepared for you you would also have bitched. In addition that bun would now be stale the following day and again you would have bitched. So they are in a loose loose situation. If they need to cater for the likes of you they should just make your burger on day one and keep it till you come on day 2 or day 3 and ask for you previous days burgers. Then you could get your one or two day old burgers. Would that work for you? Or would you bitch about that as well. There is just no pleasing some people.
  11. I know not if this is snakeoil, but Wimpie van der Merwe Swears by it. He said it is what got him going after serious injuries during a bike hijacking. Not the same scenario, but anecdotal none the less. https://www.facebook.com/wimpie.vandermerwe.52 Maybe contact him and chat.
  12. So life is good and the Child is now allowing you sleep etc. Lekker. You should know that 8 to 10 hrs a week will get you to a good space if correctly structured.
  13. Do not do this! Especially considering the mud we are going to encounter. Just change brake pads and get another 2 sets. You might need one per day if it is going to be as wet as they say. If there is mud any benefit that a service may have brought will be gone in the 1st hour and you will hear ZARS burning with every pedal stroke. Then after the ride take the bike in and rebuild.

    Who remembers?

It has just been canned as SABC cant afford it.
  15. I am sure that if Murant does not do it somone will.
  16. If you are riding gravel travel maybe. But on rough technical riding softer is better to a point. Tyre deforming over obsticals is better than having to bounce over. Softer also leads to better traction in general. To a point of course. I find that anything over 1.6 Bar (106kg me) is too hard and I start to loose traction and grip. But maybe that is just me.
  17. And Sundays?
  18. Ok so considering how low down they are in the rankings are they going to be a WT team next year. There are quite a few Continental teams with more UCI points than them. How does this work?
  19. So just a question then.... Why ride tubeless if you are carrying a tube anyway. I understand lower pressure, but I use 25C and run about 6.5 - 7 bar and that seem soft enough. Regarding tools I ride with: Road and MTB all in one ziplock bag to fit nice and flat in a pocket 1 x Ryder plug kit with plugs (have never used a plug since before plugs were a thing) 1 x Bomb + Adapter 1 x Quick link 1 x pack glueless patches 1 x 50 ZAR (for gater of bonk) 1 x compact multitool with chain breaker For Road add mini pump on frame and tube in pocket.
  20. I think this route is going to be more challenging than the old one. 2 "big" climbs out but way more rollers and I think this will hurt more at the pointy end. At least there will be a bit of gutter tailwind going home.
  21. What does the green tick mean?
  22. Grammer Nazi much? See what I did there?
