  1. Ja but could be collusion. Shop may have been asked to invoice ABC knowing it was a replica (not a fake) so that it could be insured for full value etc. then something went wrooooonnnnngg
  2. Short answer is NO! they are racing. they are not cutting out a part of the course and gaining benefit unduly.
  3. That would not be a 10 second gain! for the rider in front of him to get by as many people legitimately could take 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the rest of the single track, and then he would have to take risks. Check the video and see how difficult it was just to pass the one guy in front of him, even tough the rider made a mistake and went off course opening a gap for him to pass. I don't even know if he made it. No, no, no, that is not on. It is a way different thing if you are riding on your own. If KE was on his own and had open track in front of him, the gain would probably only have been 5 to 10 seconds if that, but with the "traffic" and this was racing traffic, that would not give way as they were all at the sharp end of the race the gain would have been huge.
  4. http://ewn.co.za/Media/2014/03/28/Evans-illegal-shortcut-at-Absa-Cape-Epic As you can see that is just wrong!
  5. So true, the wheel is round and the flat part is always at the bottom, you will get there at some point. If you live by the sward you will die by the same sward.
  6. Jip was a K@K one. we had no brakes for the last 30km or so. Use our shoes on the rear wheel to slow down. and then there were not enough brakepads in town for everyone. Lucky us we had our own.
  7. And they make it "Cheaper" for me to enter these events. Without them the entries would be way higher and I would look way K@Ker than i do now. Now at least I can finish in the top 50% if I have a bad day, but with out them I would be in the bottom 100%. I like them more and more.
  8. Drive train issues. an you may receive as much support as you can get from other participants. as long as it is not outside support.
  9. Here is the question then what makes a stronger wheel? A light one well built or an heavy one not so well built? Where do the ZTR's fail? I had 26" ZTR Olympics that were bullet proof, apart from the lips if I was running to low a pressure. Currently running about 1.4 bar in front and 1.6 at the rear with Icons on fulcrums.
  10. so here is the thing, i am a lard ass at between 95 and 98kg. Depending on the day and i am doing about 6 to 15hrs per week. What wheels to go for? ZTR Arch or Crest?
  11. Well 30% of the field are on fully sponsord tickets and this excludes the pros.
  12. Agreed, however I would never do the epic with the aim of just finishing. THAT IS WAY TOO HARD. Looking at some of the back-markers coming in on the cutoff, they never have time to rest. We at least finish, shower, eat lunch, rest, grab a few beers, then we see them coming in as we go to have dinner. They get of the bikes, eat dinner, sort out their stuff and just pass out. Then repeat tomorrow if nothing broke. Waaay to hard in my books.
  13. You da man. I like it when you can take it and keep coming back for more in good spirit!
  14. Yes
  15. Depends on the size you are going to on the new big blade (old middle blade). 34 to 36 is not such a big jump. Depends what it was and what it is now.
  16. Only a team, if your partner is mire than 2 minutes away from you you get a time penalty and the next time DQ. If your partner bails you can continue with a blue number, but you may not cross the finish line. you get a DNF!
  17. Running Sram X9 levers and rear cassette and mech, XT FD and Truvative chainrings. No changes needed except the limit skew adjustment.
  18. When I needed to replace my drive train i just left off the bug blade and fitted a 24T on the small blade and a 36T on the middle blade and adjusted the front mech. Works perfectly and almost due for replacement. However we had to find the correct width 36T to use without spacers.
  19. Looks perfectly in order to me. I saw my chainrings being put on out of the box then I rode about 600m to test shifting and the looked a lot worse than your ones.
  20. Damn rain is expected tomorrow. But coming from the UK you are probably used to this.....
  21. Sag is the Mount of compression that takes place when you sit on the bike naturally (that is what that O ring is there for). Just in case you were wondering.
  22. Don't you normaly set it according to sag?
