  1. Want to buy Mad Fiber? Now is your chance to buy the company: http://randylfridkisauctions.auctionflex.com/showlots.ap?co=697&weid=38876&weiid=0&archive=n&lso=lotnumasc&pagenum=1&lang=En There are 3 lots. Lot 1: Bulk bid for lot 2 & 3 Lot 2: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, TRADE NAMES, PATENTS, DOMAIN NAMES ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE AND HARD ASSETS UNIQUE TO THE BUSINESS (e.g. moulds.) Lot 3: ASSETS WHICH ARE NOT UNIQUE TO THE PRODUCT LINE. This is so sad. Such a great, thinking out of the box product. I hope that it is bought by someone who is going to bring them back to market.
  2. What frustrates me is that public key cryptography technology (e.g. ssl, pgp/gpg) could be utilized to to make it easy to verify transactions quickly. This would go a long way to combating this type of scam. This technology has been available for many years, but yet the banks seam uninterested in using it.

Thanks guys. Found out more. Unfortunately the trip is 7 days. I don't have the leave for that.

    Argus 2014

Just bought a sub entry, now I need to sort out travel & accommodation. Plane flights are pricey, so I'm looking at alternatives. Has anyone used the train to get to the argus?
  6. Google my name, and you will get lots of news articles about another Gary van der Merwe in Cape Town who is a convicted fraudster.
  7. Dito, and cause my surname is so common, it's easy to guess.
  8. I allways wonder where I am on the results bell curve. So I hacked up a racetec screen scraper, import csv to libreoffice calc, and vola, a bell curve: I also thought that it would interesting to see each group on the bell curve, but unfortunately it's unreadable. (Dito for age groups) One thing you can see from this is that the earlier groups have much bigger bunches. Looking at only a few groups at a time is quite interesting though: I'll see if I can come up with a way for you to turn individual groups on/off. Each data point is 2 minutes. e.g. the for the first data point, 26 riders finished between 2:08:00 and 2:09:59. P.s. Agteros: Sorry I cut your time off the graph, but otherwise it would have to be 3 times bigger
  9. The dream that we can be like the Netherlands. See https://www.youtube....sO117gFDM7UePg (Unfortunately this is maybe a dream.) Pedestrians typically walk on the road for one reason, the pavement is not suited for walking. Be it obstructions, uneven surface, steep sideways gradient. Similarly cyclist will not use bike lanes/paths if they are not suitable for cycling in, e.g. obstructions, in door zone, bad intersection designs. So in a way I agree, if it is not done correctly, it wont get used, and will be a waste of money. But if done correctly...
  10. Martin: bookmark this page: http://results.racetec.co.za/results_by_person.aspx?PID=562438 . It's will have all your future results on it.

  12. 2604m ascent according to http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/340578169 Remember ascent/descent measurement suffers from the coastline paradox, were if you try measure it more accurately, you don't get a more accurate answer, just a bigger one.
  13. Physics fail. Maybe: increases power with less perceived effort. or increases power by distributing the effort to different muscles..
  14. Ok, I figured it out. I had changed the GET parameter ?ss=1 to ?ss=3. This changes the site to racetec branding, but also empties the list. If you change the GET parameter ss, it gets stored in a cookie, to you need do change back to get your seeding back.
  15. Ok, thanks. I'll contact them.
  16. If I go to http://results.racet....za/findme.aspx, find my name, and enter my ID, the list is empty. In early January, it was not empty. And the races I have done are recent, so it should not be empty. I'm wondering if it is just for me, or if this problem exists for everyone?
  17. Front of the AL bunch in the valley before Krugersdorp hill decent?
  18. I'm sorry to hear this. My sincere condolences Wyatt.
  19. I had a good race. Did 3:10. Happened right in front of me, but I did not see what caused it. There was a large club, with black kit that was controlling the front of the bunch. Quite a lot of their riders were involved.
  20. How was everyone's ride? I thought the route was very good. Challenging, but enjoyable.
  21. Sorry, I did not look. Sorry. There also are licensed groups (elites & vets.)
  22. I've been steadily improving my seeding, but A in other races would be to high for me. I now realise how small the race is (there are just 2 L groups.) So I'm sure I'll find a bunch in the AL group that is my speed. (No trying to go out with the front of the group for me.)
