  1. haha, this cyclone person says "we went to Tokai forrest and rode for about an hour and bit and i hardly broke a sweat. It was more techinical than the road but slow and not very challenging on the legs. Was also so sandy, spent half the time churning stand while hardly moving forward at all. Maybe just a bad location. Maybe just a bad location. Maybe just a bad location. Maybe just a bad location. Maybe just a bad location. Maybe just a bad location." Firstly, if you hardly broke a sweat, maybe try going faster, try pedaling more?...and yeas, it IS sandy, it's mountainbiking. hahaha, what did he expect? Tokai a bad location??? No Cyclone, it's an awesome location dude. It's one of the raddest places to ride MTB on the peninsula. In fact, it's sick. I'll make you an offer, you meet up with my mates and I and we'll take you on some of the trails there. Then you can diss the sport once you can handle even one of the lines there. Otherwise, pop on your spandex and go hit the tar.
  2. yes, please trash the idea of MTB. It's clearly not for you and frankly we're all sick of roadies clogging up our trails. If you can't have fun offroad then u'r either not on the trails, or you are going too slowly, or you are just too serious about life and need to learn to let go of the brakes and let rip a little. Either way, thanks for playing, and we hope NOT to see you there in future.
  3. ya dont need to be an engineer. just take off the rim strip, see which spoke matches the ones already on, look at how the others are laced, copy this (you might need to slightly bend the spoke to get it in and around) Drop the new nipple in from the top through the hole, thread it and tighten. Very easy and can be done in 5 mins
  4. It's sad to see how the this forum always reverts to the lowest common denominator. It's REALLY tiring reading any post on the hub as you constantly have to sift through personal chats, inane posts and complete rubbish. It's as if 95% of the people who post here have nothing better to do than waste their employer's time. I can't imagine how unproductive some of these people must actually be. I saw earlier a guy on here who is nearly at 20 000 posts. This is something like 30 posts a day. This same person had a post on here about being retrenched. Go figure. Sorry to say it, but the hub is littered with rubbish posts and it's one of the most poorly managed and uninformative forums I've ever seen. I frequent a few other forums to do with my business and almost every post on them is relevant. Johan, your posts are great, and while I sometimes don't always agree with your opinions, they are always informed and relevant. There are other ways of 'chatting' on the web like Facebook chat, msn and skype. It's just pathetic to post *mini hijack*, ask some personal irrelevant question about if XYZ wants to go for a ride etc. It wastes people's time, but then again, by the looks of it, some people here have a LOT to waste.
  5. That's how he's ended up with 11774 posts!
  6. O ja' date=' when you're insulting someone (or try to get a rise form them) and you use words like puerile. Please make sure you spell it correctly otherwise you lose all credibility.......[/quote'] *sigh* I wasn't trying to get a rise out of you DB. I was merely pointing out how lame your joke was (do you listen to Gareth Cliff by any chance, perhaps, and scuse the pun here, IDOLise him? You do know he's not funny either right?). I didn't think I had credibility to lose btw. Thanks for putting a random spec on the web so waaaaaaaay high up have a nice day now, jokester.
  7. who is Luke Watson?
  8. Zeepee, comedy is NOT your strong point. It lacked the most important part of what makes a joke a joke, it was not funny. Seriously, I think the only reason it was deleted was because it was so pathetically lame and purile. I'll bet u'r a gas at parties
  9. swap your frame for a full suss

  11. Stop beating about the bush. What is the "incorrect manner". Lathering it all over the place like you do with the oil you love so much. Thank you' date=' now we can get down to brass tacks. The original statement was that successful lubrication has more to do with the method of application than what you use. Successful lubrication in my book is the maximum reduction of friction using a specific product. Now, whether I lather it on, as you suggest, or put a drop on every second link (as I do), you'll get the same level of lubrication - both successfull, and in contradiction of the original statement. Further, oil for bikes is sold in a little bottle with a dropper, not in a can with a paintbrush. What is so difficult to deduce from that? [/quote'] Is this why you never get good results in MTB races..... cos when you stop youtake like 40mins just to lube every second link....... HAHAH, no wait for it, there will be some "scientific" BS reasoning behind his race results... Does he even do Races....... I doubt this dude even rides. He's a classic troll type. Probably works in some cosmetics lab and logs on in his lunchbreak
  12. You need to open a civil lawsuit against the City of Cape town. You really really need to do this. These idiots need to lose their jobs. So sorry for your son. Hope he's ok. Seriously, you NEED to sue these f%$#ers...
  13. That's hardly a day ride. It can easily be done in an hour and a half.
  14. you can always try and sneak them onto the plane 'mule' style
  15. Only now? What took you so long?!? JB's convoluted opinions were worthless to me the day he spouted some idiotic opinionated BS about Chris King hubs. You know the old saying, never trust a lawyer, an accountant and a wheelbuilder

  17. Oh ??? indeed - but so has Tigerbrands for brown bread etc & they fixed prices ?? Fined R90 MILLION ... who are these that they should be excluded or treated with velvet gloves ?? It's still a crime !!! Not saying I'm awaiting their downfall - but hell I'm also charged for everything concerning my cycling thank U very much !!!! Hell I dispise greedy people !! "DT"They must be taken down. This sort of behavior is criminal, and they must be treated as suck. They are actually killing our beloved sport. I hope they get fined to the max. @ssholes. I will never ever buy anything from their stores again and I hope nobody else does either. Greedy filth like this need to be prosecuted, and I want my money back.
  18. well I've been running the G4 rotors, then switched to an Alligator up front and the only diffs it made was it screamed with a different note! So now when I brake they play a lovely chord!!! I'm running the metal sintered pads as well. They make no diffs.
