  1. That explains it all, will keep more of a distance next time, or pedal harder to get away
  2. I dont trust horses. Those eyes freak me out. I think they can smell it on me. A while back my usual route trail was used for a horse race. When approaching from the front i pulled over (well clear to avoid them) but the horses still turn to my direction - it happened a few times (can they smell that I dont trust them?) All the people on the horses were friendly, gave waves, smiles and a few friendly chirps about not being on a horse. Seems like they have a friendly community going on. (maybe cyclist could learn a thing or two.)
  3. I have been running my tubless since June last year, and have only replaced sealant twice. 1st time was because i got a BIG hole in the tyre so a lot of sealant escaped, and 2nd time was about a month ago ( i sould have done it earlier because i saw it had already dried up)
  4. I hope so, but i doubt it, different strokes for different folks. I am relatively light due to my height constraint, so i dont put that much pressure on them. I will definitely buy the nobby nic's again.
  5. Well very little maintenance is required. Just have some of those plugs to fix large punctures. If you puncture a lot then, replace the sealant inside. If your tyres do get worn, then you will just need sealant (r200+-) and 2 new tyres (can ge them on special for R100 if you look around, or atleast decent tyres for r400 each) Depending on what you buy, I have schwalbe noby nic's and they have lasted over 3000km that is including commuting and having to ride on a bit of tar. So money well spent.
  6. 60 pics
  7. Dat feel.. much sadness
  8. I have a bell that I use, from far I start to ring it, otherwise they get a fright when you are close. Even when riding on a certain side of the walkway they seem to sometime move directly infrom of you and sometimes keep on their side, why they swithc over I dont now. very unpredictable.
  9. It was difficult, long and frustrating. Its diffucly to ride with little movement in your neck and left arm ( like trying to get up a curb, it just hurts) I had to take the shortest route possible and ride as smooth as possile. But I made it in once peice, nearly came off again close to home.
  10. It was a very brave tackle from the cop, it looks like he took a handlebar to the crotch

  12. hahahaha what a cheak. What is the selection process though? Do you look at all the pictures again everyday, or do you cancel out the entries up till the last selection was nmade and only the latest photos are chosen?
  13. hahaha damn thats cool
  14. Not to deviate the thread, but whats wrong with the shimano hubs? reason I ask is that i got shimano xt hubs with sun inferno rims, and I am wanting to replace the rims with something better and I'm still deciding if i should replace the hubs
  15. First commute fall today, very embarrassing. I crossed a road and a woman crossed along with be but decided she was turning infront of me, i saw what was happening, so i slowed and let her go. I was right next to an island and turned slightly to avoid her bumping my front wheel. While i was turning I was trying to uncleat but back wheel caught the curb first and tossed my back wheel out from under me, that slow mo fall. I hurt my neck the other night from sleeping awkwardly, now its another level of pain. I could hardly continue the ride to work. Managed a 13km/h , got some deep heat for it now, I can barely move my neck or left arm. hope i can make it home again.
  16. I currently use a KMC chain. I have had no troubles with it, other than snapping a pin because I changed gears too fast when i was at a stand-still on a ihill and tried to pull away fast. replaced with a sram quick link, no problems. Oh and I have done many a mile on the chain, maybe over 3000km's and still going strong. Thinking of trying the xt chain next

  21. Get you at the top of Voortrekker (Steve biko) next to wonderboom just before 5? then we ride to maniak from there? I will also be coming from that side.
  22. Ok so all this just to get a few points to qualify for olympics. im sure SA champs is not the only race that the riders can compete in to gain UCI points. So for a few points they sacrafice having 2 jerseys, now there is only 1 that will be worn where there could have been 2. Big ups to CSA for good LOLs
