    Uni Cycling

I wonder if Danny Mac can ride a uni? And if he can't who's gonna say he sucks. What are those extremely gay things with 3 wheels in the background. I wanna see you do Trials!!!
  3. Cool, thanks for the help. Are they quite big and bulky, what do you think of the Demon guards?
  4. Keep on stuffing up my wrists so though something like this might help. Anyone tried anything??? 661 Wrist Wrap Race http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=47034 661 Wrist Wrap Pro http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=45071 Demon Wrist Guard http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/LargeImage.aspx?ModelID=60255
  5. Kenny Belaey, 9 times Trials World Champ bike's go missing at JHB airport. UPDATE, bikes were found after 2 days, in the airport where they should have always been. how hard is it to find 2 big bike boxes good thing they didnt get jacked
  6. Its only got 1 gear so guess it counts!
  7. You'll be surprised what you can ride on a Tandem, will be fine through the switchbacks at Rietvlei, not fast thou. If the trail gets to tight pick a straight line with the fewest trees and obstycles and HOPE FOR THE BEST. you can ride single track and just slowly in the hectic stuff, flat single track, jeep track and dirt roads are awesome.
  8. let me rephrase that. you can yes, but the only 1 i have seen done started coming off, it is alot cheaper than spraying thou so mb its worth a try.
  9. Endo YES, wouldnt recommend it thou, Wheelie havent been able to so far but can do a little bunnyhop. my boss is a beginner still.
  10. not for full sus this would be your best bet, thats why we settled for a hardtail. http://www.buycycle.co.za/buycycles/frames-mtb/ellsworth-en-2-3-4-5/ellsworth-frameset-witness-ellsworth.html
  11. guess we gonna have to put some work into the Spruit and make something worth riding. whos feeling strong B)
  12. That looks like a pretty cool trail, someone build a mountain in JHB. . . . .
  13. Yes its open, We rode it about 2 months ago.
  14. WOW, he hit harrrd!!! got a bit of a wobble also.
  15. Spruit jumps Tomo at 4 see ya
  16. Sooo much Anger, and i missed all the fun See ya on the Trail
  17. I think wacking her with the stick would be the best way to get the message accross to her
  18. A friend who is also getting into jumping got the SX, thus far he is loving it. The frame geometry is good and if you break it I will be amazed, its build to be abused. the spec is pretty standard, the fork isnt the greatest but its all you need to start off. If you compare the prices to CRC Frame bought locally will cost you R 3000 Breaks R 1000 Wheels R 1500 Fork R 1600 Cranks R 1000 the rest of the bike around R 1500 = R 9 600 these prices are all minimum, it really is a good deal if you want a play bike, I was contemplating getting one just to use some parts and then have a DJ specific bike.
  19. Yes its easy to learn it just takes a bit of practice. Most NB thing is to keep your arms straight, I find the best saddle height is about 50mm below your XC height, this gives you a better centre of gravity for balance, enough power in your legs and allowes for more sideways movement of your knees for balance.
  20. Search on the hub to find examples of some trials bikes
  21. Higher saddle is easier for wheelie but low if better for the rest, also normal bikes geometry is *** for jumping. You can always put the seat up on a jump bike, more than enough to do wheelies
  22. The Ryckus is a DJ bike, I think that would be your best option. A Trials bike is very similar to DJ only real diff is the stem would be longer for better controll when flat and on the back wheel. Bikes are also built a bit lighter. Trials specific bikes have no seat and are *** for riding around, but are awesome for trials. Trials you also want a rigid fork on.
  23. The reason I started this thread was because a certain Spruit Genie/Gnome has done a huge amount of work on the spruit. Cutting alternate lines off the main path which make it more fun and challenging for skilled riders. A week ago another rider decided that he didn't like the jump that was built and proceeded to cut the lip off and make it a smooth bump, this didn't make the gnome very happy. . . . And rules aside, 2 XC riders decided to ride up the landing of a hip jump and then stopped at the top of the take off to watch a rider coming straight for them, funny thing is they could see the rider was doing the jump line before they decided to ride it and then didn't even bother trying to move out of the way.
  24. Wow, you guys can bitch and moan. . . . . this was suppose to be a civilised thread. So basically, there are no rules, its a free for all and best man stays on his bike - I agree with person going up has right of way, provided they are on the main path and not a jump line that has been built, its easier for the guy going down to go off for a bit, plus it gives us more stuff to dodge. - On a flat section, both people keen left and go off the path if possible.
  25. Lets hear what you have to say about passing and who must move off the track, and general Spruit junk. Rule No 1. If someone has gone to the effort of building a Jump/new section (off trail) and you dont like it cous it makes you crash, build your own NEW line and dont edit something cous you cant ride it.
