  1. Basically what Letum911 said. for the first year or so all you need is a bike, any bike will do but preferably 1 size smaller frame or a DJ bike. It takes a while to build up your confidence, practicing getting onto small ledges and your balance. If you runn SS on 26" the preferred ratio for Trials is 22-18, but there is no issue with running gears, you might just break a few hangers There is a ride this Sunday in Hatfield PTA 8:30 ill post the add later
  2. Yip, it was the Cascaded DH track, the 2 big tables halfway down the track. We were hitting them at full tilt and we were still 1 bike length short. Its a flipping hard landing when you come up short on those.
  3. Pleasure dude, sorry it took soo long but work has been a bitch. That was a weekend to remember but soo much more to ride there.
  4. you mullet by the rear shock, the hose cant compress into its self so you get alot of cable rub and flexing. ill WhatsApp you a pic of what i did with the Jamis so the cables flex between the seatpost tube and the left side of the shock, it seems to be working well so far
  5. I would recommend changing the cable routing, that design doesnt work well at all.
  6. Hardly notice it on the DH bike. Ya im keen to come ride on the Saturday, just come mess around for the day. Sounds like fun They moved out ages ago
  7. Good old fashioned spade, always does a better job. Did it 3 times, first 2 i just cased, 3rd was smooth. Trials jump is my trade mark so i can prove it was me
  8. All good, no man made structures, just shaped a pile of sand in the park, its like riding off a pevement If someone is stupid enough to ride it without looking at it then they deserve to get hurt.
  9. A bunch of us hooked up for a street Trials ride in the JHB CBD on Sunday the 22 Jan. Biggest EVER group of Trials riders in Gauteng, really happy to see this side of cycling growing. Awesome place to rideand tons of ledges to play on check out the FB group here http://www.facebook.com/groups/129670410443623/
  10. A few of us found 2 "ant hills" perfectly positioned for a jump, so after a wee bit of "shaping" it was time to give it a test run. Really fun jump, not too hectic but you need a bit of speed. Video to follow soon
  11. The geometry of that frame looks very similar to the Parker, Looks HOT

  13. I wish we were allowed to just shoot these f**kers
  14. Will this be in the Avalanche this year??? Would be awesome if it is
  15. I was there today and the trails have been cleared nicely. Its a little slippery in places due to the sand but otherwise its good fun. you can do all the training you need there. I personally think they need some more "Fun" stuff
  16. Hi, Im having issues loading the Classifieds section, the pages just dont load. Im using Firefox and dont have any blockers or anything, previous version of TheHub worked fine. Please advise Thanks

  18. Sounds good, I know another guy also getting a bit more into the FR/DH side and he got the same bike. didnt have the greatest spec but its all you need to start off.
  19. Anyone keen for wed afternoon 4ish
  20. tomorrow afternoon anyone? 3:30 - 17:30 ???
  21. No worries 80mm forks are all roughly the same A-C length. your bike with the rigid was probably quite steep anyway, that much wont make too much of a difference, i doubt you will even notice it, if the head angle is too low you will feel the bike handles like ***, if you let go the bars they will fall to the side easily. You should have roughly 20% sag on your DJ fork anyway so it will lower the A-C height. I went from an 80mm Manitou sliver to a rigid 435mm A-C and i couldn't notice a diff. Let me know how it goes
  22. the most NB thing is the axle to crown height to get the correct head angle. Your frame is designed for a 435mm A-C length, An 80mm DJ fork should be around 440mm A-C which should be fine for what you want. I dont think you will find a 24" specific fork anywhere.
