  1. Ride what you feel more comfortable with! And if you feel that is the 27.5, then go with that.
  2. Thanks, Sort of what thought, I think for any recreational rider its going to be a good recovery drink and work out allot cheaper than any expensive supplement
  3. I'm still looking for a good answer as to why chocolate milkshake is such a good recovery drink?
  4. Yeah very true, Unfortunately the initial layout the bike and all the things mentioned above, including a bike rack will be a fair amount of money, I tired to make do with what I had, so rather rode flats with takkies for the first month or so till I could buy a nice pair of shoes and cleats, also used normal shorts and gym tops for awhile and now I am at the stage where I am looking at upgrading my bike. You can get a very good deal on second hand bikes
  5. I record all my rides with Endomondo and then export to Strava (As I feel strava uses more battery and has on occation lost entire workouts) On the Workouts page, click on the activity and around the middle on the right, you will see a more options button, under there you will find the export option
  6. My advice would be to try and ride the options you are interested in, I was convinced that 29 was the way to go on upgrading from my 26 until I rode a top spec carbon 29 at the cycle fair, I didn't like it at all, So I'm going to go the 650B route rather.
  7. See the app is going to be relaunched, when they have sorted out all the bugs, Looking forward to seeing what they will change.
  8. I really like the concept and feel kudos are due to Ecobound for starting something like this, I don't mind paying the R200 for the app, but I won't because I feel it is a big negative that you have to use the app to record your ride and can't just upload from a dedicated GPS, I'm sure there are other ways you could confirm the ride is legitimate. Looking forward to seeing how this grows and improves and who knows maybe 2015 as going to be a bigger mtb year
  9. +1 for option 3, you could also phone a few LBS's and try to get the best price for the bike you are keen on
  10. Wet your cycling top completely before you put it on, should draw some of the heat away from your body, but in hot weather doesn't last very long before its dry.
  11. So I've been reading up abit on this recently, thou do not have the time to read every post, but would like to loosely follow this way of eating, I'm not looking to lose weight, its more for energy while riding and also eating better on the longer rides, in the past I've used anything from jelly beans to marshmallows. If I understand correctly Tim Noakes is saying this way of eating lasts longer and you wouldn't need to eat much during a 3-4 hour cycle, is that correct? Also how could someone adjust there eating to follow this in some ways, Like what would be the top 5 things for the beginner to start doing?
  12. I'm currently on a 26 medium and feels abit small for me, I'm 1.83m, I'm thinking of upgrading to a large 650B. Does that sound right?
  13. I have 1 half marathon up for grabs if anyone is interested
  14. You can still go and collect at Cyclelab fourways
  15. Yeah, disappointing how few specials there were
  16. Yeah, I'm sure Solomons went home smiling, their area was the busiest and saw lots of people that wanted to get into cycling, asking about the 26's on special.
  17. Was also hoping for a few more bike brands, from what I see there will be Merida, Titan, Cube and Pyga
  18. Looking forward to seeing what Titan are gonna have there
  19. Will be there on Saturday morning! Can't wait
  20. HI I have a half marathon entry that I can't make if anyone is interested
  21. That was quick! I generally don't like surveys.. but this has a pot of gold at the end.. Maybe..
  22. I feel this is a very good way to look at it, TREAD also did a good article in the latest mag and mentioned that for enduro/technical stuff consider a 650B and rather consider a 29er for marathons and stage races, From what I have seen a fair amount of marathon races in S.A consist allot of jeep track and relatively easy single track, with a small amount of technical, I believe this is different from Europe where there is allot more technical stuff. It made sense to me at least.
  23. Also if you have any questions let me know
  24. +1 I'm a proud owner of a Titan sport 26er It's Tektro Draco brakes, have a manual if you want Out of interest does he have a price yet?
