The Outlaws stay in Virginia about 15Km from Welkom and when visiting I uasually ride some trails along the Sand river.Their was a mountain bike place called Ron Mountain bike park but looks abandoned every time I go there,but still ride around.It is on Bloudrift Gravel road next to sand river.

I make it a MTB weekend in Parys and do the 106Km on Saturday and the 56Km on sunday.Stay at Smilin thru Holiday resort just about 10Km outside Parys.Quiet Cheap,self catering.Lots of Braai's Beer and quite a load of Mountain Bikers making for a good vibe all round.

You right they said that in the briefing. The race was awesome and I admit I suffered quiet a bit ,but that's what I like. That feeling of satisfaction of finishing a tough race sums it up for me. Puts things into prospective on what to work on.

Also a lot of climbing but not as technical.Totally enjoyed it last year.Was my best race of the nissen trail seeker events last year.

Totally tough but awesome race.Now I know why they call it Bliksen after the Greek Church.Just willed my way through it and took it easy to the end.The 10min interval start made a huge difference today.Not to much conjestion,and coming home on seperate routes made for fair riding.Hope they roll this out to other trail seeker events and others in general.

So how was the new route at Redstone today.Did the 50Km ride.It was a awesome route with a good mix of everything.Must say I that second Lap was a lot of work.Good vib all around.

66Km is close to a normal Marathon MTB race, but its all relative to the race its self. All depends on type of terrain and profiles the race offers. I usually think time wise. Fast race for me +/-3Hrs and say Tough race +/- 4Hrs
