I'm going to give this event a go.MTB is my thing and I like doing Trail running aswell.Competed in both events. Swimming is where the problem lies. Most I ever swam was 400m in the Xterra lite and that was a tough swim for me.Just wandering how hard is it to Canoe 16Km.Maybe a better option?

Amazing to see how far technology is involving in the sport,but seeing and putting it into pracrice is a different story.Mostly trial and error for me.

I just use the spinning machine at the gym to do Interval training with power output and a bit of weights as well but at least 80% of my training and riding is done on the bike.Thats where all the Fun is.

No but self satisfaction is just as good. Also something to challenge my self against.Most of my riding is done solo.

Did anyone do this challenge. Just completed the challenge today.Did 7340m of Off road climbing in and around the buffelspoort valley.Some tough climbs in the area with quite a lot of hill repeats to get all the meter in. Did 305 Km to climb 7340m with avg speed of 14.9 Km/Hr.Not to bad for my standards. Some great climbing with Awesome views.

The scenery is so awesome and spectacular. Those wild horses running down those mountain streams was a great sight to see. Breath taking riding and scenery, not to mention the crazy cycling fans.

Agree. Great route with a good mixture of routes. Lots of fun riders ranting allot with faster riders moving through. Not fair.The first 40 odd Kilo's I said to my self this is great and looks like the seeding system is working well, Then all three races converged together. That means seeding system falls out the window as you cannot race against your own race now????.

I' am now glad I start working at 5H30.Get home just after 2.Ride for +/- 2Hours and get to see the final odd Km's of the TdF Stage. On lazy days just glued to the TdF.Might go to gym in the evening.

Sorry just a another question on this thread about BB Got new bearings for my Trek Superfly but cups that are press fitted were a bit worn out.I had to put some shim stock in befor fitting the bearings for a tight fit. Will this method work.Looks to have done the trick.Thanks
