  1. One of the guys in our group (Roadies) is an obsessive rider without the obsession for cycling thingys. He rides Specialized with a Dura Ace groupset and pricey Shoes and Helmet. Yet he does not have a Strava account or use a cycling computer. He rides completely dataless and yet he rides more than anyone in the group. He has fancy things but then again he can afford it and likes riding in comfort. Another rider that rode with him in April said that he recorded just over 2000km's on Strava for the month. With Stravas new policy and the way I feel about cycling now I am more interested in getting out than clocking points and likes with the public. I have done a few solo rides without my Garmin last month and most peeps say, "if it isn't on Strava it didn't happen". mmm, like your mom and your dad doing the funky chicken 9 months before the day you were born. Just get out there and ride. If you need a carbon bike, get it. If you need power meters, get it. If you just want to ride an MTB race in your tekkies and rugby shorts then by all means do it.
  2. Good job Gav, I have shared your link with my cycling group in Canada. I have already given R2000 to another charity so all I can do is spread the word.
  3. Life lessons learnt from Covid-19 Go shopping once every two weeks. Shop smart, eat smart.Have lots of wine and whisky at the ready.IDT to get the heart rate up 20-30 mins and do HIIT to for muscle development and fat burning.Drink lots of water in between meals. Go for walks every morning. Changed job to work from home. More time with family. Travel less, better for the environment and the bank account. (Last year I went to 5 countries and 57 cities.)With everything that has been going on it has taught me to focus on what's important and slow down.
  4. Try reaching out to cyclists in your community. Someone might have one for you to try out. You could meet up for a coffee ride when Covid19 is over.
  5. Cannondale Topstone https://youtu.be/pELDkSDZn-I I will get the Topstone as my next do it all bike. Morning group rides on slick 28mm or long distance gravel rides on 37mm.
  6. Yesterday was my last ride outside. The government has issued a stay at home policy, though not as strict as South Africa I don't want to face a $750 fine or have an involuntary dismount and land up in hospital. Bike has just been cleaned and lubed and will be going on the trainer for the foreseeable future. Trainer road will be my go to.
  7. Out of curiosity, which online store in Canada did you use? I want to look at their site and see if they selling fake merchandise.

I doubt I will get back into Hunting as it was something I did while I was young. I really enjoyed the aspect of hunting. Going out once a year with my buddy, camping, drinking old brown sherry around a fire on a cold night in the Karoo and walking for km's each day and patiently waiting for the right kill. I never kept a trophy or the pelt. I only took home my share of the meat and biltong. If I ever did decide to get back into hunting this would be my first choice. Marlin 1895 Dark Series
