  1. Personal Choice, of course, but I found the 660, being a single, vibrated way too much for me. The whole thing shook like crazy from about 4k revs up to about 6k, which was just where I was riding. Very irritating. This Kawa is a twin so that should not be an issue.
  2. Huh? 'Course it is.
  3. My boss used to cycle to his local station on his bicycle, lock it up there and then catch the train in to the City. If it rained, he'd hang his socks over his PC monitor to dry. Classic.
  4. Where does the congestion zone start? Couldn't you ride as far as, say, Richmond, and then tube from there? Or even a British rial station outside the zone and catch the Crossrail?
  5. I see. Got to admit I don't like fairings and I would feel constrained with one in traffic. Where do you ride from/to?
  6. Are you allowed to lane split? Do you do it? Is it even possible in that traffic?
  7. fugly? How can you call anything with eyes as cute as this fugly?
  8. Unpredictability ain't good. I had a Kawasaki 500 triple back in the day and was never sure whether I was going to get around the corner or it was going to flex us both into the outside of the bend. And I became quite good at guessing whether or not the brakes would stop me. Is that the kind of x factor you talk about, Allrounder? Haha. If so, thanks but done that. I like the feeling I get when the bike does what it is supposed to do. Boring? Perhaps, but I've used up some spare lives already thanks.
  9. I'm curious about this x factor. One of my mates also mentioned it and lots of guys say it with regard to riding BMWs. So what is it, this x factor? More power, a steep power band or torque curve? The possibility of breaking down? What gets you excited to ride?
  10. Barry, What sort of commuting do you do? Is it the Duke single you have? If so, just for comparison, one of my colleagues bought one as his first bike and for commuting. We both think it's a nice bike but he suffered badly in the wind here in Cape Town and also got bullied around by cars. I don't think that for commuting it has enough "presence" on the road and car drivers tend to ignore bikes which don't catch their attention for one reason or another.
  11. Geez, you've been a bad boy. But to pull someone's front brake at that speed? Surely not even you tried that?
  12. Roman Fenati. I see he got a 2 race ban. He's a lucky guy but I think his team should dump him. I see e also he's due to join a new team next year which includes the guy whose brakes he pulled. that should work out well.....
  13. I must add..I really enjoy this thread. It's the first one I open in the mornings.
  14. Lovely photo. The loneliness of the green long distance biker...
  15. OK that makes sense but for "plastics" or enduro bikes. My understanding of "adventure bikes" was the bigger bike which go offroad sometimes but not predominantly so. Nice bike by the way and the scratches suit it...
  16. Why so?
  17. The thing about a wrap, though, is that it's removable. If you want to sell, that may be an advantage.
  18. I don't want to spray mine but am keen to wrap it. I already have a wrap on it but it's getting shiny from knee contact so I just want to replace it. It's Matte black. Don't know if you can see the patch towards the back of the tank..Do you think he will do those?
  19. Man, that's a good point. Is he in CT? If so, I'll ask him.
  20. Just for comparison, I received a quote of R1500 to do just the tank of my GSA. Don't know if that helps..
  21. Yes I got that. Just reminded me of the movie. And to your question, no, but they look interesting. The range of products they sell too is huge. I wish we had such choice.
  22. riff raff? That you Frank n Furter?
  23. You just brought me to tears....
  24. Wise. Tar rash hurts...
