  1. Haven't used the model, but after sales service is incredible. Also the new 60 is just about to come out, check out bryton on Facebook and they should have a discount voucher on there. A lot of people have had an issue with the size of the 50.
  2. Super sport 6, 18:45 starts with stage one, team time trial!
  3. I'll be waiting for the whole thing to be finalised. Will name and shame should anything untoward happen. The md has a hub account and has commented on some things here... So we'll give him a chance while they are still working on it!
  4. As expected. They've just come back with a mail stating they know of no other companies that cover the costs but I must take them to a post net and they'll pay for it. Thanks for the confirmation guys!
  5. So put an insurance claim in for my wheels. First, they said the quote for a replacement was too high, so rejected claim. Phoned and they said just get a new quote and it should be fine. Before anything else was sent to them, I was told they want the wheels for salvage so I must courier them overnight. From johannesburg to durban. As far as I've heard, most of the companies send a courier to fetch salvage goods. This is a cost I just don't have the money for right now. Surely I shouldn't have to pay? Nowhere on my policy materials does it mention this will be required in the event if a claim... Thoughts?

Yup I'm in! Is that last climb the one going from the caves side to groendakkies?
  7. I prefer Solomons anyway. Westdene was just another option!
  8. Solomons woodmead. WestDean cycles. Only two I know of. I have one and they're freaking awesome Lights!
  9. Remember the thread about the weak bottom bracket sections on Cervelo frames before the big crash? Yeah... I do. Put me off the Canadian frames for life. I still really want a Chinese frame. May have wheels sooner than I think!
  10. Do silvia's pass a few times...
  11. I'm with I cycle as well. Sean has been great so far. Covered my bike at 18k,wheels @ 12k, bryton 35 @ 3k, and lights at 1200. Pay 220 per month and that includes liability of over 1mil and the bikes are covered in pretty much every situation.. Racing, training, in car, out of car, on bike rack, not locked, all is covered. About to make my first claim for wheels, claim went in today, so I'll give feedback based on the response! Hold thumbs for me guys!
  12. Just been helped by Tim again today. Really nice store, really nice atmosphere, and great pricing. Honestly I'm convinced of their excellence every time I'm in there.
  13. Saw it advertised. So should have coverage..
  14. Black spade racing Dark horse wheels Concept carbon All do combos, all well priced. Locally branded Chinese carbon Wheelsets.
  15. I'm another satisfied Solomons customer. I always end up there when searching for parts and tools, and the workshop is great. They stand by their work without giving any hassles. And Tim knows his stuff when it comes to wheels! Big up Solomons!
  16. Definitely no timing mats at the turn. Just a damn cone... Could have a lot of cheating! But hey, not as bad as EPO.
  17. They'll all recommend 29er as they're going to be more expensive than the 26er. You'll be fine on the right size 26er...
  18. I've read it that they charged 1500 plus 600x2 for tyres... Either way, with ghetto conversions, this is a rip...
  19. Hi Anton. First off, well done on what I'm sure is a nightmarish job of organising a great event (I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway)! Please note that we're not complaining about having to pay the fee (as mentioned, it was the same rate as the toll both situated parallel to the paying booth), but the fact that we were not informed to be prepared for it. What happens to those who forgot to bring cash or a card, and perhaps only expected the normal tolls payable with a fleet card (which the casino booth rejected)? All we ask for, (amongst a million other things us unreasonably demanding cyclist demand) is communication so it does not become a problem on race day, where a lot of us are nervous, stressing, and all of it around us is unfamiliar. Your feedback has been great to see so far (bar the minor bitching session a few posts back, but don't worry, we forgive you), and commend you and anyone involved with this event. Looking forward to next year! At least I have an idea of what to expect this time around! Thanks, AfdElite
  20. Too much to pay for that.. Rather spend a bit more on a carbon bike. Check out silverback and giant, they'll have some good bikes at good prices now due to the new models coming in very soon..
  21. *** one! But must say, experienced a good few shirty drivers this morning on the east Rand... Not giving space, not giving to my right of way.. Luckily I'm aware or could have ended badly a few times!
  22. Oh and also find ballistic bike trading and or bryton sa on Facebook... They often have 15% off vouchers there... For anyone wanting a savibg
  23. I got 3:22 as well, but started in C, and managed to get through them all just before the climbs. Picked up a guy with a TUKS jacket and we worked all the way until the turnoff... Then his legs gave out and I was on my ace all the way home. Those last 10 kms hurt. But please with the time! Was a great race, despite all the rain and wind!
  24. I have the 35 as well... Picked it up second hand here in the hub. Had HRM issues, and Bruton were absolutely amazing in sorting me out with a new one at no cost, without asking for receipts or anything, and really accommodating. I had the cateye before, and the change has been awesome! I love the gps mapping, the battery life is amazing, and today discovered its suitability to use in the wet. I also use strava for viewing rides, so can't comment on the site much. But my riding partners all ride with garmins and the data is almost an exact match. If you can spend the extra for a 40 or 50, I'm sure you won't regret it... Keep a lookout for second hand units too!
  25. Oh and let's not forget the 3 hours in having to spend cleaning and drying he bike and gear!
