  1. Do it match style.. Two against two, cup format.... Would make it very interesting and a winner would need to be consistently good...
  2. Like most of my dates in high school...
  3. Yes.
  4. Be careful. The 10 speed cassette is actually narrower than the 9 speed ones. That's why the ten speed uses a spacer and the the nine requires none. Not sure how that affects 11 speed, but is something to consider... If you're not sure, take it your lbs to check it out...
  5. Principles are negotiable when the price is right... That's why prostitution exists.
  6. I like going to the shop, I know it's highly unlikely I'll be ripped off... And they always seem to have the spares and parts that no one else does, so after the 8th time of going there last, I now just go there first. They've been amazing when they helped me with an insurance claim for my wheels, and even gave me a fair discount to avoid being out of pocket on the excess. However, just last week I took my bike in to have the parts swapped over from old to New frame... They hadn't installed the headset properly, the wiring is not very neat up front, and when on my first test ride on Saturday, the gears kept slipping... Couldn't figure out for the life of me what was wrong... Until I stripped and cleaned everything, to discover they had put an 8 speed quick link on my ten speed chain... As said before, no problem to give me a new replacement, but it's the crap of having to go back... Still one of the better bike shops in the city in my opinion...
  7. I've just been troubleshooting my road bike wih the same problem! After anticipating a new cassette and chain purchase, I decided to give it a super clean and lube... Just found my LBS replaced the quick link with a 8speed one on my ten speed chain. Possibly something to check.
  8. Go get yourself fitted to your bike properly! Seriously the best money I ever spent on my road bike... So worth it.
  9. That would be awesome! What's the wear on them like after anodizing? Is the anodizing a thick layer, ie, will it interfere with clearances?
  10. So I have 6600 ultegra parts that come in the standard silver... Would really prefer black as it would match my new frame! In order of preference, it would be: Crank arms Brake arches Derailures I understand that the moving parts may rub and remove paint, but can you get paint to actually stick? Thanks!
  11. Yeah, I was lucky enough to have all the components as ultegra 6600 and shifters are the 6700... Can't stand the shape of e older shifters... They were so uncomfortable it made me hate riding... Stick with the 105... Probably not worth a change man...
  12. Yeah, they're called wankers...
  13. So with all the crap we get from the coastal dwellers, I found this impressive! Tonight, at around 7:30, on my usual leg spinning training ride, I got a puncture going down club street in linksfield, just before St Andrews I think... Had barely turned my bike upside down when someone coming out of a side lane stopped and asked if I was ok... Seemed like a cyclist tho, so if you're a Hubber, you rock man! Then, a commuter on a 80s clanger stopped to check if I needed the use of his air pump... Then, a passer by also stopped and asked if there was anything he could do to help... He hadn't gone 50m before a security van stopped beside the road and waited for me to get back on... They were amazed by the temperature of an expended CO2 bomb! So for all those who keep ruining the rep, clearly this is still a friendly city where people aren't total asses. BIG UP YOU JOZI BOYS! KEEP THAT UP!
  14. You forgot that we also don't want to have to peddle hard, get out of resting heart rate, or concentrate in a pack. Everyone but you should hold a perfect line. And don't EVER Ask us to do work at the front of a pack!
  15. http://www.sa-venues.com/visit/kwamaritane/facilities.php Mountain bike trails aren't ticked, so I assume not available.
  16. I would suggest contacting the reserve themselves. I used to be a supplier to them, so it's very possible... Good luck!
  17. I can only imagine weather being today's reason... Not all cyclists are as hardcore as Hubbers... Haha
  18. Isn't it called kwa maritane?
  19. Hectic stuff man... Especially that helmet... Wow. Good luck to you boys up there in pta.. Hope this crap doesn't spread.
  20. Really hope this kinda crap doesn't catch on...
  21. The nice thing with the three brands I mentioned is that they will pretty much do any decal colour/style you want. They are just re branded Chinese carbon with a local warrantee, but if you take the time to read the Chinese carbon thread, there's more than enough evidence that that's far from a bad thing. Of course, you could make it even more fun by sourcing your own Chinese carbon frame and parts to build it with. And budget will be well sorted too! Check out sites like: Flyxii Dengfu Hongfu It's a start and a great alternative to getting Bent by the name brands...
  22. I have an extra one that's brand new If you wanna buy it... I'm in jhb so dunno if that works for yoh
  23. The giant tcr advanced from cajees will be a decent value package. Otherwise, take a look at the following If brands aren't too important: Black spade Concept Booth They'll at least have well priced carbon frame sets and Wheelsets, add your grouppo and some bars and you're away. That said, 2013 bikes are now going on special everywhere, so scout your lbs and see what kinda deals they can put together.
  24. It's P for Petrus... Ou maat het 'n plaas fiets geboue!
  25. Awesome man! Not much better than riding a bike you love! Many happy miles!
