  1. I saw it was only a 69km road race anyway... Sounds like a fun ride for sure... Think the mtbers may be more interested...
  2. Saw some posters around the cradle yesterday that the date is the 3rd of August? Cyclelab.com doesn't have any info? Anyone know what's up? Thanks! Joss
  3. All works. I have 67 stis with 66 group set
  4. But sky have had bad days! They've been taken apart a few times now... But for the most part they've had a clear strategy. Chris has shown he's a great climber and great time trialist. But not as good a sprinter. So they've cycled to the strengths... That's how you win.
  5. So maybe he's having a good race and the team is supporting well. You doubt your wife every time she's home late? Cause that's the same amount of trust you're giving. Poor guy does well and you doubt his ability. Innocent until proven guilty.

  7. I love how the start of this thread, everyone is Chris' biggest fan and wishes him well on the tour. Now it's turned into a "he's doing well. Must be doping." Personally you guys lack some character. Support him if you like him, don't if you don't. But don't be so immature as to blame a well ridden and well calculated tour on drugs. Yes, we get the fact that Lance broke all your hearts. But it's time to get back on he horse and back out there. Gees like it I've seen teenagers have break ups better than you guys and Lance. Anyway... Good luck Froome! The performances have been incredible and I've loved every minute! Keep opening the gap and showing what you can do!
  8. I only drank two shots officer... The knife was only in his chest for 4 seconds! I only raped her for a few minutes... Sound reasonably allowable? No. Don't be stupid.
  9. Don't forget your bike fit for a far better riding experience with the new bike!
  10. Haha loved the interview: Journo: why did you follow him(contador)? Froome: yeah you're right, I should have just let him go up the road and take the yellow jersey. Stunning! Haha
  11. He hasn't bitten. Don't treat him like a cheat because someone else did. If he had a history, I could understand... But come on... That's completely unfair.
  12. I think the tour so far has been spectacular. Froome and Sky have done brilliantly, and it's a pleasure to watch... On the doping cheating topic, my opinion is he's clean. And I don't mind the fact that he's only coming good now... If someone has worked their butt off for the last three years and has good team support, why not? Leave the guy alone and enjoy the performances. Innocent until proven guilty!
  13. Yeah definitely Chinarello...
  14. This should only be a last resort for weight loss. Problems can arise from procedure but I've heard that most people see amazing results and in short time. Seek medical advice before anything this drastic. Good luck man!
  15. Youngsters aren't the ones who are being ripped off though. It's the yuppy husband and wife who want to join the friend couple on those bike rides. Youngsters don't have the money to have ripped off them. It sucks, but it's adapt or die. Knowledge is at everyone's fingertips nowadays. Time they started using it man...
  16. Dude let's face it. We've witnessed here that loyalty is cheap. How many of the posters gave us prime examples wih something along the lines of "I have my LBS who I go to regularly but Cajees price on a new bike is just too good". Seems they're loyal when it suits them. This is business, not a playpen. You get what you can when you can from who you can. It's the reality we live with and you either live in the fifties and get shafted or you evolve with the world and play the game and score. Morals and values and loyalty are lovely words that fly out the Window when money is involved.
  17. Ya I'm really struggling to understand everyone's annoyance. Like the guy who bought the ancient trek for like 12k. Surely you whip your phone out and Google the bike quick? The OP checked the price of esi, and didn't buy them at the unreasonable cost. Good on you Bro, you had knowledge and used it. The same things happen at almost every mechanic and panelbeater. If you haven't bothered to learn, retailers are not going to be kind and teach you. It's called school FEES for a reason. I've paid mine a few times. It happens. Man up.
  18. And if they're ripping off the "innocent" buyer, then clearly the innocent buyer has little concern for the money they spend there. If I was about to drop around 5-8k on a bike an accessories, I would do research and come back if it was reasonable. I don't walk into a hifi Corp and pay for the first thing offered. I shop around. Same as bike shops. But that's cause I can't afford to waste money, or be negligible with my expenditures. If you can afford not to do the research, then you clearly aren't concerned about being ripped off.
  19. I have to disagree. Let's take a look at our cellular providers. They're some of the largest companies but have almost no one's trust. Let's think of insurance and medical aid companies. Also massive. Also extremely dodgy and mistrusted by most. Now yes, they are a grudge purchase. But that doesn't change the fact that being big does not always mean better service and/or expertise and/or trustworthiness. Now we all know the type of people who own cajees. They deal in their business the same way most of their brethren do. This is well known and expected. If you neglect to check the value of a product or are too embarrassed to haggle, then you should not buy anything there. Or the Plaza. Or a little Shop in fordsburg. The fact is, most cycle shops take the piss with pricing. It's ridiculous! You have to know a products value before you buy at ANY cycle shop. Being helped by a clueless white teenager and being overcharged is just as annoying as any other type of salesperson. what REALLY annoys me is, I must first "build a relationship" (read spend a lot of money on multiple occasions) to be able to negotiate with my LBS. At least the first time you walk in the guys at cajees will negotiate. So, finally - if you want to shop there, don't. If you do, go for it. They're not the only retailer ripping people off and they won't be the last. It is up to the consumer to arm themselves with as much information as possible before parting with money. Anywhere.. Just don't be stupid. It's not that hard.
  20. Dude... The only thing you can do to be happy is ride what you want. If you think upgrading is better, go for it - if you can afford it that is. But don't upgrade just because. 2000kms is not a lot for a bike, and if you're pushing your budget, don't. Also, why don't you rather see what you can do to make your current bike better? Like a new Wheelset and wide tyres, better brake is necessary or smaller upgrades? It's always a hard choice but always do what makes you happy... You're is really the only opinion that matters, because after all the advice you may receive, it's your ass on the saddle. Hope that helps.
  21. You sexist you.. He hasn't mentioned once that it was a woman..
  22. You must have kakked big time.. Did they even realise?
  23. A parts from the blind faith reasoning, how about a slightly scientific one? Please note before you start reading, I'm no expert and only paid a little attention to my high school science teacher, but I remember leading this one day: In order to lessen the injury from a sudden stop impact (like those found in car accidents, body damage in falls, etc) you need to lengthen the time and distance of the impacts energy. In other words, the longer the energy can travel before it reaches you, the less damage occurs to the final component in the impact (in this case were talking about the occupants of a vehicle or a pedestrian). This is why cars now have crumple zones - if the front suffers an impact, and no crumple zones exist, little force is absorbed by the actual structure (car). This means that occupants experience most of the force on impact. If, however, like our newer cars, the engine drops on impact and the crumple zones absorb most of the impact (one of the reasons today's cars get written off so easily, not like grandpa's old Granada 3.0L), then the structure has absorbed most of the energy on impact and the occupants as little as possible. If I'm wearing a helmet, and the impact occurs at 10 or 40 kms an hour, I don't care much what speed, then it means I have at least 5cm of foam and casing which absorb some of the energy upon collision. How much is debatable, and how much of an effect that has is too (as we've seen in this thread). The fact is, however, that there is a "crumple zone" effect and ill take that any day. All in all, I still think you're an idiot if you don't wear one. Those who profess otherwise just sound like I did when trying to prove to my parents why I shouldn't go to school on Fridays. "I don't concentrate anyway", and "but the teachers don't even give us homework" didn't work then - and your notions of "they make no difference", and "only for sport" just sound like a whining teenager who's trying to validate a stupid decision. Last thought: Today while driving in bruma, I witnessed a man get hit by a car. A pedestrian who took a chance. His legs got caught by the bumper and head went through the windscreen. I can guarantee you he would have taken a helmet option if one had been afforded to him. Especially after seeing him bleeding out his ear canals and back of head abrasions... Don't be a stupid price because you want to be rebellious to the rules. Grow the f*** up or get off the road.
  24. I don't know about accuracy but my Bryton didn't cost an arm and a leg and it's got all the functionality you may need. Plus the after sales service is outstanding.
  25. Oh and other adds they do is lazer alignment on all the important stuff, and the all measurements are sent to you via email after the session. This is so you can exact fit everything should you change or upgrade parts later... Everything is really helpful! All in all a really good experience...
