  1. Ratchet type freebody hub, apparently is what the oem uses
  2. Anyone aware of a local product similar to Molykote TP 42 Paste
  3. Personally I would stay away from Stages power meters. Duties will most likely be VAT at around 16% of item value that will as any local shipping charges listed on the invoice. There is also normally a small broker fee that gets charged by the shipping company. The CR2032 battery should not be an issue.
  4. I have also ordered a few things lately off Ali. Most if not all have shipped with Speedaf. If the item was cheap as in under R600 there was a minimum fee of R100 to be paid. This was for items that do not attract duties. For more expensive items the charges varied. For instance on a R3400 bicycle part vat and clearance amount was R800 so a little more than the standard 16% vat charge. However was still worth it in terms of overall cost.
  5. Local scenes on Eastern Cape gravel grinds.
  6. As far as I know the units are sealed except for the original Elemnt. Basically if you open it you might as well throw it away because there is no means of resealing it. Unless you want to try glue it back together. I personally think its done on purpose to force customers to buy a new once their unit goes faulty. Typical "throwaway culture" !
  7. It should typically count as a checked bag if it is boxed. Take note of your weight allowance and make sure it complies.
  8. Assume you the bike was transported on a airline to the holiday destination. How will you prove that possible initial damage was not caused during transportation.
  9. Just go with Nextie Rims and DT hubs, you wont look back !
  10. It appears as if all the Shimano items are available, the trick is you need to place your order after hours or on weekends as I have noticed it is geo blocked during normal working hours.
  11. Its offering me these three options
  12. who did you end up paying duties to SAPO or DHL ?
  13. which shipping option did you use ?
  14. Is there a way around the geo blocking of certain components when shipping direct from Bikeinn to SA.
  15. Any 220V AC to 12V@5A DC power supply should work ! Just do a search : " 220AC to 12V@5A DC power supply" . I would suggest not buying the cheapest you can find. However, I would'nt pay the price they are asking for the origional.
  16. Some more new stuff from Shimano. https://flowmountainbike.com/post-all/shimano-launch-grx-1x12-di2-gravel-groupset/
  17. Might be able to assist, neet to check my spares bin. Will let you know
  18. Front or Rear or Both ?
  19. I might have some spares lying around, drop me a pm.
  20. Not sure, but I can confirm there where trucks going up and down the TT route the whole time.
  21. The only new ones available are the https://www.sram.com/en/sram/models/rd-red-e-a2 versions, not sure about stock in SA. As mentioned previously the one you have was discontinued some time ago.
  22. These derailleur's are tricky to work on ( I would think they are designed not to be repaired) . I have come across 3 already that have failed. They can be opened with difficulty, but not much to see its all small circuitry and often tricky to spot any faults on the small circuit boards. It is most likely an internal fault with servo motor or short causing the battery to drain. All of the ones I have come across basically just stop working. The easiest fix is the battery pins are faulty/worn but this does'nt seem to be the probelm in your case as battery is in fact draining thus indicating connection seems okay. Does the green light come on when battery is installed, and flash when you try shift or is it permenatly on ?
  23. Seems like a classical case of sellers remorse.
  24. If you are referring to a normal cardboard box that pre-assembled bicycles arrive in at a bicycle shop, then most bicycle shops should be able to help you. Some give them away and others charge. If you are thinking about a hardshell transport case then you going to have to spend some money.
