  15. It seems that cycling is the best means of creating awareness and raising funds! http://www.thestar.co.za/?fSectionId=&fArticleId=vn20081119113457322C937211
  16. Eish!! Don't bribe these guys for earlier appointments!! http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=15&art_id=nw20081118155719424C683306
  17. Firstly, let me state that the laws of the road need to be adhered to and respected by all! Secondly, if you have 60 cyclists riding single file it stretches for quit a distance and if the driver of a vehicle gives the cyclists 1.5 meters space, he is encroaching on the oncoming lane which is dangerous, not only to oncoming traffic, but also to the motorist trying to overtake and especially the cyclists. Now, lets say that the group was bunched up and took over the entire lane and this reduced the profile to lets say a length of an average truck & trailer. In my opinion (just mine & is debatable) I think this makes it safer as the vehicle has to slow down and pass when safe to do so (I know, drivers are very impatient people). If this was indeed a truck & trailer fully loaded traveling at 30km/h, what would the driver of the bakkie then do? Just my 2c and not necessary legal, but safer! Captain Slow2008-11-19 00:12:41
  18. Great to hear Gav!! Please do take it easy!!
  19. Eish!! Not Good news! Hope the cyclist recovers from this ordeal. It won't be easy without a leg! It is definitely a Global issue and some countries at least are doing their best to create harmony between these two groups.
  20. Any other ideas/suggestions?
  21. HP & DELL!! You can buy either directly on-line!!
  22. Another option is we can meet at Rietvlei and spouses can drop those off wanting to cycle to Suikerbosrand (less traffic) and spend the day at the resort where they have swimming pools and braai facilities.
  23. Cycle! Run! Party! Year End Bash! Family Gathering! Jol! I am sure the message is clear!
