  4. great some nice NEO motos!! nice to know morewoods work with this wheel size. those are velocity blunt rims hey? did you build the wheels or buy a set?
  5. if you want to find out more .... read here http://forums.mtbr.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&securitytoken=1309277215-a164a557894366714e4e0a5228e358b82ac5c910&daysprune=&f=135 you can use the same gear ratios as 26 inch bikes. and if your frame has 2cm clearance from tyre to frame and you have a Fox fork or Manitou the you can just buy the wheels. WTB have brought in some werewolf tyres and rims you can even rebuild your current wheels... do you really want to follow that 29 movement?
  6. i have been curios a looong time about this wheel size and it makes technically sence to me... i was however not convinced i wanted to go the route of KHS hardtail available. it's part spec is not too wonderfull and i am done with hardtails for now. i did a fair amount of reading and the cult followers in the states seem to think this is the wheel for duallies. too make it simple you should be able to just buy the wheels if you have a COMPATIBLE fork and frame. it did not work that simple for me... i had NEITHER. so ditch the SID get something like a FOX or manitou. i got a R7. i came across a fella who had a 2012 sample bike in his garage (german brand Pearl) ogled it and bought it.. mistake.. now i had two full sus frame that dont fit the wheels... some modification required and i was ready to go. imported Pacenti tyres and American classic 650b wheels. the end result below. it rolls VERY nicely love the descend on it and singletrack. it did give me a fair go on the climb and i was dropped by a 29'er...errr maybe i'm to fat...
  7. hahaaha Salusa amper 45.. usada approved
  8. i seem to have this same Loyalty feeling bout this team as with ol Lance. wish it would work out..but ..they were good maybe sometimes best.. but their best is past. i dont predict a podium from any of these fellas. lets be honest... Conti..Andy..Wiggins..Gesink the young ones are here to stay. ALL these fellas have always been the runner ups.. super domestiques
  9. Hincapie never made those allegations.... read his twitter. he has distanced himself from those claims. it was contrived by media
  10. yes xray resitant motor
  11. the FASTEST bike in the world depends on who is doing the wind tunnel testing on the day (read...Cervelo , Spez , Trek ) mind you Fabian has been on ALL 3 and he is still the fastest
  12. ja TRUE he was also wearing a shirt and tie.... were there any other EURO pros... missing the point but good comment
  13. My KArbin Ryperd.....yepie yepie yup
  14. WE always want to know if bikes will make us faster. sometimes they do , sometimes they don't. you WONT turn into a PRO if you buy a Carbon bike...but if a PRO turned up at le Tour with a 10kg ALU/Steel roadie he won't be gunning for the win. On their level the boundaries get pushed to eek out miniscule percentages of improvement to have the upper hand ...hence Lance's statement give me the SH%t that kills em. TRAIN hard. that will make you lots faster and train smart. NO need for overtraining. still Carbon is soooooooo beautifull. so are models...would i be a better lover if i traded up my lovely dependable wife? i would probably umm prematurely blow up
  15. and for heart rate you just stick a suction cup to your chest
  16. ORRRR...... an I-Phone app that changes your gears for you according to your facial expressions!!
  17. we can probably expect a ANT+ system similar to shimano DI2 or the Roellof hub. just think an integrated computer and shifting system. NO cables... NO wires..
  18. PLEASE remember the EPIC is similar to le Tour...suppliers bring on the NEW goodies... oh look at what the pros are winning on!!!! preaching at the wrong crowd here are'nt we?
  19. However, apparently the KHS 27.5er is like Albany, the best of both worlds but I cant vouch for that, never seen or ridden one. This post has been edited by janneman72: Today, 01:36 PM There is a lot validity in the 650b movement and with MOST frames and forks you only need to buy a new wheels set. you need half an inch clearance from your current wheel to fit a 27.5 (650b) wheel. You can order a american classic wheel prebuilt at the same price of 26/29 or you could get a ZTR 355 rim (new batch just made) and use your old hubs..... i think a LOT of the south african market is VERY gullible BURRY and SUZI have ALWAYS been dominant at epic stages irrespective of their wheel size. this year they had awesome form and very good luck..
  20. it's a challenge for sure... exciting
