    Formula 1...

I don’t agree. History has shown that the champions have very often “controlled” who is in the No:2 seat. You think Ferrari thought Barrichello was the 2nd fasted driver on the planet? Many drivers have insisted they have a “say” in who their teammate is. This was discussed in Adrian Newey’s book “How to build a race car” and Mark Webber’s “Aussie Grit” books that I’ve read. They want a teammate that can back them up well from their rivals but just not be fast enough to challenge them for the championship.
  2. Just loved that rivalry!! I was a Kevin man, my old man Rainey. We used to sit on opposite sides of the lounge come Sundays! :-)
  3. He’s be correct! But we do have wind to contend with at times and that can be brutal. We’ve got one proper climb here, JebelJais, it’s well over 1400m of climbing, but about 90min outside Dubai. The rest is a pancake.
  4. Just over 180km of dedicated cycle track in Dubai. Very lucky. But a few drawbacks. Riding on public roads very dangerous and mostly illegal, so it’s the same tracks day in day out, it’s FLAT here, and I mean FLAT! The car racing circuits are open on Wednesday nights for cycling so that’s cool as well. I’m not complaining though.
  5. Family rides. THE best... Felt like yesterday I was teaching them to ride a bike, now they wait for me!
  6. App permissions maybe. Or calendar not configured. And maybe clarify, this adds to your Outlook, Gmail calendar and not your Zwift calendar.
  7. Connor knocked out 2nd round. What a clever fight by Dustin. Smashed Connor’s leading leg in round 1 with kicks. And put out in TKO in round 2 !
  8. To be honest, while I have a fetish for quality tools and have spent waaaaaay too much money on most of them. The items in the pic have been at my side for the past 15-18 years! And never failed me once. I’ve lost count the jobs they’ve completed for me. And I think I bought it all at Cape Union Mart :-)
  9. I’ve spent more that R670 bucks on tools that I use for even LESS than cutting zip ties. It’s an addiction to holding quality in ones hands :-) I need help!
  10. Start in an open doorway. Where the door frame is at your shoulders. And wheel speed is your friend thanks to good old centrifugal forces. Enjoy!
  11. In the Nineties and early Noughties at best. We got much better gearboxes now [emoji16] But yes, you showed good footwork here!
  12. Small feet? You know what they say about a man with small feet...
  13. We have a burger chain here called Burgerfuel. Their “plantburger” is better that their beef burgers! But they twice the price so I rarely order it. But they have got the taste down right!

    Formula 1...

If they can’t get the front end to work with the aero on the rear will mean nothing. The rear is needed because it works with the Merc engine. But if they cannot get the flow from the front matched, will end up a very unbalanced and nervous car. But I’m hoping they get it right. I like McLaren.

    Dakar

Those Toyota’s were built and run from SA as Toyota Gazoo Racing. Team run by Glyn Hall. Their workshop used to be near Kyalami.
  16. Interesting post.... A little digging and I see that Oculus put the age restriction down to their international Content Rating from the IARC due to what is available on the platform. So not suitable until teens. Also appears that a lot of their technology and features rely on Facebooks hardware and software backend. The “rich” content coming from Facebook shared services. To that end would make sense that if your device has access to “privileged content” inside the Facebook ecosystem then you must have an account or they could be deemed to be sharing private info with outsiders. Either way, you make a great example of how we are getting “forced” into alliances with people/companies we would rather not. Standing your ground is becoming so much more difficult as you will end up not being able to communicate with anyone!
  17. I only started paying attention once she mentioned nudes.... Just joking. Perfectly said and agree with what she said. I just love people these days, we expect everything for free and damn can we moan when the chickens come home to roost!

    Dakar

Desert Rally.....Pressures are changing daily depending on the terrain. The 2-Wheel drive cars are even allowed to change it on the fly. Doubt there are pressure regulations. In the desert, too hard and you going to get stuck, too soft and you’ll roll the tyre off the rim. The terrain is self regulating :-)

    Dakar

Huge tyre difference between the 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive cars. The 2-wheel drive cars are almost twice the size and are allowed almost twice the suspension travel.
  20. Heartbreaking to see Ross Branch crying next to his bike after a small crash at the Dakar ended up in the chain wrapping itself around the frame and swing arm. Later reports that he got it sorted but has lost 45min. He was running so strong! But it’s not over yet!
  21. If these messaging apps don’t get their act together quickly people are going to have to start using their actual voice to communicate again.... Could you imagine!
  22. What to do with my 18 different WhatsApp groups that have the same 18 contacts in... The world has ended.
