    i dont profess to be an expert, but y would you want the Sag in traction mode especially in the front? will this not compromise your braking ability? dont you normally want 'traction mode' for rear? i could be talking a ball of snot here. iwud say Sag normal mode rear and x-king front and stick to normal rotation. but to be honest, i suppose this will work best for xc type riding. does it make any sense?

    so can one just enter? I read you get somehow invited to ride the 75km and you cannot just enter. the system wont allow.

    Have to agree, some direction markings were dodgy, i too landed up riding in wrong directions at some places, however luckily not too far..... Glad to see someone else also got more than 66km. my clock read 66.7km. The ride was awesome. great training for sand riding. lots and lots of muscle hurting sandy moments. This event will be permanently in my diary. well done all.

    loved this event. was my second one. will be back every year for sure. Great vibe at the finish. That yummy biltong potjie and plenty beer made me forget how those single track mountain slopes tried to claim my life....... lol

    I speak under correction, but if memory serves, i think this event was also a w'end b4 the cederberg 100 miler last year.

    how long do you plan on riding? how long did u ride getaway the w'end?

    Getaway had about 500m of climbing over about 27ish km. this race has about 1300m of climbing over 45ish km. not too tough but loads tougher than the getaway we had over the w'end.

    What a nice turn up today considering the weather. Some rain, a fair amount of mud and interesting single track made it worth it. I clocked 27km and just under 500m ascent. Bike washed already. Took me a while to get all the mud off. In fact, it took me longer to wash the bike than it took to ride 2day lol.... Now to wash the shoes.

    my first ultra went very well for me. Paced myself for a bronze and finished in 5hrs53. Funny enuf, i still had lots left in the legs when i finished. I really enjoyed it. The hardest part for me was running down chappies. Midway down, i reduced my stride and it helped 100%.
