  1. For the 60km race, i got a total of 1019m gain on my garmin. One of my mates got over 1400m with his tomtom and another got over 1200m with strava and another got 1118m with a garmin. i know it varies and there is no right or wrong but i am rather keen to hear what elev gain others got for this event and how was it measured i.e. garmin/strava/tom tom........

  7. If the bike is in very good condition and that is the float factory series shock I'll say offer him 18k. How much do you weigh and do u ride very aggressively? Those gt hard tails are bullet proof but does have some degree of flex if throwing it around corners. Another thing to note is frame clearance in the rear for tyres 2.2 inches or wider.
  8. all i can think of is 'lucky bugger' to have all that beer!!!
  9. really enjoyed this event. thumbs up to PPA! Although the temp was effing cold on take-off, it turned out rather pleasant for me after about 30 min into the race.

i heard there were lots of riders taking all sorts of short cuts in the second half......i personally only saw 3 riders in front of me bailing after the first 25km by going back to the start venue. dont think they went over the timing mat at the finish line though otherwise their finishing time would have been under 1h30min

  17. just make pretty sure you frame allows for it. also remember, your wheels flex under load which might cause your tyre to rub against the frame if your gap isn't big enough. Your weight will also cause excessive flex. is it a dual suspension or hard tail?
  18. Pity about the traffic jam with the short route riders.
