  10. ja, spoke tension definitely makes a big difference. my question is rather what should i spend extra money on (eg this chub hub) to get a stiffer wheel. in what order of preference?
  11. Obviously the stiffness of a wheel is dependent on many factors: axle (20mm vs QR), hub strength and flange, spoke count and thickness, and the rim characteristics... when building a 29'er wheel, where do i start in making a stronger/stiffer wheel without building a 3 kg wheelset? What is most important?ichnusa2010-02-28 01:30:07

  17. Yes, they become loose, but, as i said, just in that they do not come out perfectly perpendicular to the calipers. Thus, they also do not retract nicely. It could only be dirt... but if Q20 does not work for long with new pads, you need new pistons as well. It is what i needed to do with my Juicy's a
  18. Pads probably worn... so pistons coming out more than they should to compensate for the wear. Try replacing the pads, even if they look like they still have some life left in them...

  22. My solution.... Flatbar and bolt (from local 'bolt and nut' shop) and couple of spacers. Most importantly, works a charm and cheap to build... if you can find the bolt.
