  7. Ride your bike and enjoy it, whichever one you prefer and can afford. Leave other people and their choices alone - let them be. I'm not forcing anyone to buy a 29er, but if asked, i will tell them it is just great. If for nothing else, a different riding experience... As an addendum: when people say that a 29er rolls over rocks, i dont think they are referring to this kinda break-you-teeth-if-you-fall stuff. A 36 inch wheel will not simply roll over those rocks. Having said that, i did also ride my 29er hardtail through it - a more delicate, bumpy ride!
  8. bla bla bla.... i love my hardtail 29er rode my 26" trail bike over the aforementioned rockgardens - loved it as well bla bla bla....
  9. Awesome pictures Rad... I saw Ms Batty in the shops - she is even prettier than all her pics. Pitty she is only about 5 foot tall!
  10. What a great weekend. Not all the results we wanted, but great nevertheless. Please post your pics...
  11. if higher pressure does not work, try ust tires or back to tubes....
  12. was at the track today - nothing boring about XC! awesome footage on the big screen and even better out on course. as was noted - the filming is already being done, it just needs to be televised. if the epic organizers can do it, so should the world cup organizers. it is the only way to get the sport out there and the masses in supporting it live. i feel very strongly about it. the event is driven by a group of local enthusiasts, CSA is on the band wagon. they should be running with such a great event....
  13. there is always a way for water to get in... its the out thats a problem!
  14. here is mine... details... one day...
  15. Who drills a hole in their BB shell to allow water to drain? It hurts, but i do. Every bike i've done it to, a stream of water escapes and i'm agian happy i did it ...
  16. this might help... all the gear ratios worked out..
  17. silicone is a sealant, not a glue. so wont stay there... patch on the inside. take out all the sealant. patch and put back on rim with normal tube to keep the pressure on evenly. dont pump it too hard as it will open the hole and the glue will set in that position. remove the next day and seal with stans (or whatever other brand) as per usual.
  18. beautiful, but looks heavy...
  19. and a nice bell
  20. shocking story... lock the sucker up
  21. if your partner is stronger than you - the 96... if you are stronger - the ibis
  22. haha! yes, been there... like turning the BB the wrong direction "righty tighty, lefty loosey" BB: "right is wrong, left is right" (ie right is anticlockwise tightening) Pedals: "right is right and left is wrong"
  23. Hmmm... yes, and i wish i had a stainless steel basin with hot water in my workshop...
  24. I agree, but never the night before a race and never ever if you do not have a backup plan the night before a race...
  25. One liners... 1) If it aint broke... dont fix it... just clean it! 2) Once the limiting screws on the derailleurs have been set properly, they hardly need to be adjusted again. Something else has gone wrong to affect your shifting... like dirty housing, bent derailleur hanger etc 3) Sometimes the annoying, untraceable creak is coming from your cracked frame. 4) The right tool for the right job...
