  1. Yip I had it with LBS as well..... they don't order, technically incompetant, clueless, and apparantly can not phone out from their premmises!? I buy from CRC and service my own bike...... and want NOTHING everagain to do with a LBS!
  2. Don't know if you found the answer yet..... here my 2c........ Chek your tire pressure (make it less), make your rebound damping more..... That is what I would have done. Cheers
  3. Hell Yeah......... 2010 is gonna be interresting.
  4. Optimization...... I think that cycle companies do the following (I would have): They buy a compeditors bike and see how they can optimize it and then sell it as their own (a couple of years later after optimization). This way they save a lot of money because they don't need to do all of the R&D.... That is why so many of the designs seem similar. Keep in mind tah the only reason a design will be changed is because the designer will thinkhe has improved it. Unfortuantly I sometimes think that the improvments is so minimal that us mere mortals will not feel the differance.......
  5. Nee f0kket ouens....keppies af, die MTB helmut het mos n visor? Daai ou het seker wit sokkies ook aan

  7. When will the results be out?
  8. I thin SA had its first official SUPER D event??? Quote from the internet somewhere: A super D race is best described as a downhill cross country race. They normally lack the technical danger packed elements of the downhill and in most cases, have some significant pedaling. Usually, a Super D is a timed event and can have either individual start times or a mass, Le Mans style start where everyone goes at the same time. This is a great event a lot of people can enjoy. There isn't a whole lot of climbing so you don't have to be in great shape, although it doesn't hurt, and you don't need a $4,000.00 downhill bike to make it down. Any bike will do for a Super D race, but this category of racing is where the all-mountain/trail bikes with 4, 5, and 6 inches of travel can really excel. If you're thinking about getting into racing, but you think you might lack the endurance required for a typical XC race, The Super D is a great place to start.
  9. We accelerate faster on the downhills, but once terminal velocity is reached I think we are all the same - we just get there faster.
  10. Hi, Where can we get some photos and the race results?
  11. How slippery will the trails be if it has / is raining?
  12. I have now started to save for one of these beauties!
  13. Where did you get the stem cap? I have been searching for more than 2 years for one!
  14. .....I am still waiting for the following quotes from FPC in no particular order: 1) Tires (5 months) 2) Price on a frame (6 months) 3) Price for a shock (18 months) So my money gets spend at CRC...... Good cyclist don't necesarrely make good bicycle salesman..... in fact I found that good cyclist makes for arrogant, useless bicycle salesmen that are more interrested in chatting with their colleauges about koeitjies en kalfies....
  15. ......if we enter twice, will you take us up the hill a second time ? I am still giggeling with exictment!!!!
  16. ..........think roadies should start wearing number plates. That way offenders can be identified and fined.
  17. Nope start with the LH one firs, go down to eeufees, then head toward PTA.......etc.... The last bid of track is single track, running down from the fort to the parking area.

  20. Hey, I was there about 2 years ago...... trails started to look "unmaintained". I spoke to a lady from the monument, as I wanted to build a DH track. She said that they are busy building a MTB track that should be open by the 9th of November...... So maybe it might be worth while checking out?
  21. Hi Guys, Do any of you know what happened to the DH track at Gilooleys in JHB? Where can we ride DH in Gauteng other than Helderkruin, Klapperkop? Cheers!
  22. Well..... I keep on braking before and during the turn. It's like I dont trust that my bike can lean over - dont trust the grip of the tires...... Problem is that if I don't have enough speed coming out of the corner' date=' I uassaly don't have enough speed for the following obstacle like a drop, jump eg.[img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley7.gif[/img] Well I decided to kit up this weekend and see how sharp I can turn before the grip on my tires give....... mentally I will prepare myself for a skid / fall and just turn and see what happens?
  23. Hi Guys, I am also into DH...... I have seen Luios a couple of times..... I useally ride at Klapperkop and maybe once evry 2 months at helderkruin. I started with DH to improve my XC skills....... and has since found out that I am hopless at turns (incl. berms and flat turns.) Any advice? Thanks and cheers!
