This is indeed a sad day for cycling in SA..... Most people are not happy with one or more LBSs due to bad service, bad customer service etc. and now this.... to find out that we have indeed been screwed with prices aswell. There is a couple of shops that wont see me again (Fritz Pinaar and Cycle lab). So my 10K a year won't hurt them - at least now I don't have to b!tch and moan about them anymore because I wont go there. Has there been any response from Fritz Pienaar or Cycle lab?

Where are they? I need to get my bicycles serviced....

Difficult question to answer....... Sag should be approx 30-40% of your travel (front and back) Rebound - slow enough for your front wheel to stick to the ground but fast enough to recover between rocky sections Compression damping (Fast) - I like mine soft (makes the rocky sections more bareable Compression damping (Slow) - I like mine hard keeps the bike upright (no nosediving) Best advice - get your sag amd rebound correct and play with compression damping over the same section

....a LBS is only your budy when you spend money with them FULL STOP. Most LBSs is arrogant, rude and have a f-off attitude. Single track - by law you might not be required to do anything, but YOU know what the right thing is to do - and it is not simply pulling up you shoulders and saying sorry. Damm dude the guy trusted you with his bike! Now it is gone - while it was in your possesion. You know how crime is in this country YOU should have had better security, YOU should have had a more secure washbay, YOU YOU YOU! In my 8 years of cycling I have only dealt with 1 compatent LBS, 1. LBSs improve your game or ship out!

what is your lenght? Go for 170mm if you ride a size small..... or do DH or free riding. 175mm should be fine for a medium / large bike size

....... look at what happened to Mervin Dinkellman Cycles........ I still think he can blame 50% of his down fall on his staff.

Damm......... I thought that was going to happen, the last couple of times I went there the racks was getting emptier and emptier........ looked lke a SPAR in ZIM. Feel sorry for Merv....... but think he can place about 50% blame on his X-staff.

Don't go hartail....... Get a bike with Hydraulic disc brakes..... Try for a Giant Anthem or Giant Trance (either the normal or the X versions).....
