  1. Lowers can't be welded , atleast not those AFAIK magnesium reacts bad when exposed to extreme heat
  2. i definitely don't I think its good to push back but that only means more violence from criminals and the saying goes "live by the sword , die by the sword " I want to live , not survive day to day just breathing a sigh of relief that I made it to work and back without being victimized. Pushing back every cent that gets stolen yearly into poor communities and coming done hard on top level crime will likely have this country fixed in 5 years but without a serious civil war in which millions upon millions will die that is just a pipe dream You need to suggest stuff that the weakest individuals among us can do that will work and a stern voice from a thin small person doesn't do much to 3 bigger tragically poor and hungry individuals. I'm out ✌️
  3. I'll bet GOOD money F1 will never come here THis track ( i can literally stand up and look at it ) is not near FIA cat 1 , it doesn't have the pull like Monaco that the FIA will look the other way. And when the proper inspections happen ( the ones from last year were BS ) the people are going to get robbed blind. That weekend will cause robbers to fly up to gauteng just come grab some pie I have a friend that works for a big security company , remember when that F1 expo was planned for Joburg ?( Cancelled because of covid ) He was part of the MULTIPLE teams contracted for Bottas' protection I wish I wasn't this negative about this country but lately its really getting at me and the saddest part is I'm not even blowing anything out of proportion
  4. We live in 3rd world **** hole , I wish these weren't the stories being shared post ride but it is I agree the current venue is logistically the best but you'll have to get the army and half of the Gauteng police involved to "secure" it. I work in Kyalami and trust me 50 cars exiting this place at once causes a bottle neck I can't imagine the amounts with an event like this. Moving the venue is not a long term solution but I can't offer a better one than to close off streets a day earlier ( this will make my day hell ) and getting tons of security and POLICE in the whole week leading up to the race. WOOOOOSAAAAA
  5. Most lumen claims are inflated , lens quality is a bigger factor imo Front I'm not to sure Rear go for the Bontager flare RT , its backed up fantastically and scores very high in most tests where its present.
  6. Hi Hubbers I need of something weird dead 34.9 droper posts , like they don't have to be working at all , they don't even need the insides to be there If its just the outsides then cool ....34.9 seatposts ( I haven't seen many ) will also work CAn trade cash , beer , cupcakes or smarties
  7. When i was younger my father and his father always said they think I'll be good at whatever I do , to a large degree that's true. My main reason for wanting a "degree" is I want to get out of here ( likely Aus but Spain and Portugal are also on the list ) right now I'm the procurement officer for a engineering company in the food and beverage industry. Wana know how much I have studied or worked in anything related to procurement before this ? Zilch , fokol , nada Yet I feel like I could/should be earning more. Look i got this job very unexpectedly and largely because one of the directors is a friend that knows that I had a very hard time a few years ago trying to become an electrician and that didn't work out. Because of experience i did get there she thought of me when this position opened up and honestly this might be one of the luckiest breaks I've ever got but I also want to improve and set myself up better. There's a plan for me here to eventually take over from the workshop manager when he retires and I'm learning alot all over here but if I don't study further then this job will remain here ( as in RSA ) and its fantastic but I want to get out. Early in the NZ thread there's a post from me about when i was still hopeful i would be a sparky but yeah that's before i learned of some harsh realities of this country. I'll update here as I go along. Talking to Boston university about a Personal trainer diploma that has the needed credits for the exemption cert and will be something I can make money with and enjoy alot if I needed to do it full time. Will look into rewriting matric as well
  8. the oiz rear is proprietary looks standard but the eyelet is unique so hold that in mind , very easy to get and support in this country but it is indeed proprietary
  9. Can't appeal the decision Looking into short courses or 1 year courses which they will accept to then grant the exemption but it feels like just throwing away a year. I recon I could score >70% fairly easy but I'm motivated now , I trust I would be top in my class if i could get into it
  10. Thank you Heard back from Universities SA finally after chasing them like hell They won't issue me exemption cause I don't have the appropriate subjects. I though being of certain age and being able to show solid employment and willingness is what exemption is about , not like they're giving me the degree. Just feels like I'm getting trapped here
  11. Bolt and nut shop , bolt fast , anyhting in those lines of names will get you to the closest one You can use full thread lengths there but if you wish not to ask for a M4 x 15mm shoulder cap bolt with 3 or 4 hex cap
  12. The one thing making me hesitant on UNISA is that their communication seems very bad. My cousin did his finance quali through them and finished through a private uni eventually cause of all the delays and issues regarding material and exams ect ect. The company I'm looking at ( CT training solutions ) have been the most forward when asking many questions even about bad reviews they've had online. The money I can freeup myself but I'll have no buffer left if anything happens to me in a personal capacity. I'll also be in some pretty deep debt. So if I can find anyone who can just cover a percentage that would go a long way. Talking to many people and have a few leads but nothing concrete yet.
  13. Its not through UNISA themselves, They're just the ones that can issue me a doc saying that according to them I'm "worthy" of studying a degree. Its through a private institution so the 4 year thing comes from that. I'm speaking to my superior Thursday to see if they can help.
  14. Morning Hubbers Long story short , I have had a hell of a life after school that always looked up and never materialized. I'm finally in a place where I feel i could go study and amek a good success of it. I looked into various short courses recently and while talking with People I got recommended to look at a BBA in Project management Which turns to be very in line with the job I'm currently doing. I'm 26 to be 27 next year which will be my first year of the 4-year part time program. I've done many jobs and always left the place much better than when I arrived , my school results were poor but not hopeless. I'm awaiting an exemption document from UNISA to allow me to study a degree since i don't outright qualify with Matric results. I'm looking for any person, enterprise , company that could offer a scholarship. I understand these are trying times but it seems like those things are still available. I don't need them to cover the entire thing , any little bit will help. Please dm me if you can offer a contact or path can follow. I've never sat down and talked to someone who didn't like me after we got up again. Sorry for making it this long already
  15. Just a note on this , I'm not saying I think its impossible for thick/lots of grease to make pawls stick i just find it unlikely i9 and older stans have pawls that have a very light kick back and something thick as hell might cause issue. Test is you're doing something with a new or super thick grease. Project farm is where alot of the weird things that i do to my bike comes from , mostly to ensure super long term reliability
  16. Biggest one for me is GT They've been involved in such a massive way for soooooo long So them calling it quits is a very big indicator for me personally
  17. 100% FINE When putting back keep in mind , the thickness and amount of grease will have an impact on the sound There's also lots of warning about using too much will result in the pawls not jumping back and sticking but I've literally never seen this. I like using thick white lithium grease from finish line in my hubs ( cartridge bearings , Pro4 ) , they're much quieter for about 3/4 rides then back to normal and when it comes apart next time the grease is still white so that makes me confident its keeping the majority of crap out of there.
  18. Also can't recall anything at the event it self , I mean everything associated with like people travelling up , cars with stuff inside getting broken into ect ect
  19. Very sadly awaiting all the posts that are going to come from the 947 over the next couple of days
  20. BIG Time More than 6 Big league race teams have announced their programs ending this year and I expect atleast another 10 before March Hard times ahead
