  1. Though about this just for fun But two things 400 bucks for the 40km 😕 and having to click 5 times just to go to the price never mind having to enter
  2. Okay jrre I'm trying to help I've said the its crap product EVEN if you serviced the fork before every ride , I'm positive you'll see scratches after 100 hrs of use Bowing out here
  3. Keep taking the new fork back every time it discolors , they(cape cycles the ROCKSHOX agents) will replace it with something beter eventually ( you won't have to pay ) Just keep doing the admin , cape cycles will end it.
  4. If you want to bash Trek for the garbage product rockshox makes go do the same to Scott ( scale and aspects ) Giant ( think there's a talon model ) Signal probably have em Should the bikeshop strip a new bike and service it instead of assembling it ? IMO they shouldn't have to but because the factories ( ROCKSHOX ) have shottty products and QA bike brands carry the fallout. If you're willing to pay 30k for the Trek instead of the 23k then maybe I could understand wanting the bike freshly serviced off the floor .....but people wan tto swoop on every deal and aren't willing to pay a cent in profit to business owners. 23k for a modern alloy hard trail , with 12spd and air fork isn't bad ....Marlin 7 is better value if it were me DESPITE ALL OF THIS Go back and keep at it , Cape Cycles will eventually give you a recon or reba. Not Trek , its their responsibility to carry the admin of this not replace the garbage product the comes from ROCKSHOX
  5. Would someone here be able to help out with a deal in CPT if I decide to go through with it ?
  6. The mechanics get paid dogsh#t and don't get sent for training even if they ask for it You get what you pay your employees is the biggest reason for the downturn in quality in the average workshop these days. exceptions definitely exist but they're a drop in the ocean Problem lies with the owners/mangers first
  7. Is this hose story they're trying to claim boyle or pascal's law ? I feel pascal but haven't been in a physics class in years 🤣
  8. Interesting way to go about it and i think you could argue that in a legal sense but i think selling the items at half the cost to company per item to the public or even liquidators will yield actual cash
  9. Get a longer seatpost asap Min on that frame is 100mm but anything less than 125mm is a big risk on that specific gen
  10. Pump is not really the issue , your bigger problem is going to be to get that red adapter unscrewed from the shock body before big loss occurs Good luck Pump wise the rockshox 600 psi ones are quite good , just don't go for that generic digital one that every bloody brand on earth has gone and put their logo on
  11. That jump scared me the first few times I had to roll through it Being so under cover and close to the trees makes it feel very sketch .... especially with how quick that right hander comes up. Now its just huck and start thinking about the right hander as I come off the 😂
  12. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/review-vee-tire-cos-gravity-lineup.html Wonder if we'll see better pricing and more local options I miss my old rock razor in dh casing
  13. Don't know why but today this is just stuck in my head
  14. Or come back to the land of spares 🥷
  15. Oh **** i see the location ...damn Weigh up damper vs new fork ( even if its an upgrade ) If the damper costs less than 35% go with the new fork Something else to consider though is , the new fork will have a similarly complicated damping system and if that fails you're just back here. I don't even know if its possible but maybe delving into if you can retro fit a motion control damper ( the top cap threads might be different ) then atleast you have something very simple you can work on yourself and now be back here in a year or two
  16. Its likely a 2K service which will include doing the rest of the fork aswell. I'd much rather opt for that than a new fork but hey ....N+1
  17. You know Bontrager also do a DH casing ? Not sold in RSA , hardest is the SE You're comparing your experience with DHR's with EXO + , DD OR DH or whatever to something that's more comparable to dead normal exo casing.. Perhaps you should go get Chaoyang tyres before you complain about 'this day and age '
  18. Its definitely not dead , but people don't have money I get ridiculous amounts of inquiries on my items but people want half off on a item that's already stupidly low
  19. I ran this in rocky fast trails in Pta in 2019 and never struggled to find grip. Ran 30psi front and rear back then
  20. Clearly your setup is the issue here. As said above I run xr's which are the softer bontrager's and have a good few top 5's on some rocky trails here. First thing would be what is 140 ???? Your first post said 1 psi ????? Get something accurate and post the real numbers and you might be legitimately surprised by the advice that given earlier in this same thread
  21. Bike due for service after 2 years is what causes most problems. Your's is something else but 2 years is not a service interval.
  22. Joh , I run 1.8 front and rear on XR5's and they've been great ( 16kg bike , 72kg rider kitted up ) Once needed to put a mushroom plug in ( which is still in there ) but been great ever since
  23. Take any 100 people and you're bound to find one degenerate in there. Facebook is crawling with people so boring they comment on everything to get some attention in their pathetic lives. And unfortunately in south africa the ratio is way above 1/100 Just scroll past
  24. Any whatsapp groups that i can join for a ride at modders tomorrow and in future ? New in the area ( Sunninghill ) and want to ride some of the local stuff but not alone I'm a traily/enduroy type person ( i.e. not very fit )
  25. Its disgusting to see what goes on Facebook market place.
