  1. Navworld.... R779.00 for the Ant+ !!!!!!!!!! BBGiant, they won't repair screen, but rather do a new Unit at cost.
  2. Maybe try the cellphone screen repair shops? On a similar note, the Ant+ for my Garmin Forerunner 910XT, was in my laptop that was stolen. Can it be bought separately, and paired with the watch?
  3. Thanks. Thank goodness I checked, as my number board has 2 digits swopped so I got a DNF instead of 4th in my category! They will correct it for me.
  4. Will be there for the marathon. Only ever done the half before, so a little anxious. Also doing the TLC Ladies 40k tomorrow... so could be in for a tough ride. Look out for the straggler at the back!
  5. Ahem... or girls... that was the MiWay all girl team on mtb's.
  6. Thanks! Sent message to Dave, got response with all product info within 10 minutes. Now to read, and process.
  7. Hi guys, I am very new to all of this. But have been following your chats......Have you all decided that Cycleops is the best way to go? As opposed to Tacx? Please let me know. Tx
  8. We are a group of ladies who ride the Spruit every Thursday morning, from Fratelli's. Sometimes up to Emmarentia or even Water Tower, sometimes down to12th Avenue, Bryanston. We split into groups according to strength, but it is generally a social group, and we change venue occasionally to include Heia Safari, Thaba trails, Modderfontein, Cradle. (You may have noticed the pink spotted cougars out there....). We have agreed to keep the Thursday group 8 for 8:15 on trail, with alternative routes on other days. Join us with pleasure. You do need to let us know you will be there.
  9. I just spent a small fortune on a Jura Impressa 8.... makes delish espresso, but I am really unhappy about the cappuccino. Anybody else have that problem and fixed it?
  10. I am still laughing! A real giggle!!
  11. Sooo excited! Forgot what the build up to Sani is like... Can't wait for Adventure. Look out for any Oakhill Preschools tops on Trail, Adventure or Race, and look after them, please!!
  12. Also looking for accom. Keen to share. Perhaps the fancy Trout fishing estate over the road? We would be 2 riders plus teenager who won't ride. Let me know. We could share a room as family. Alex
  13. Thank you for posting this. I would probably have tried to get up, and his advice in lying where he was til he was found, rang a few bells in my head. Well done to the amazing mountain bikers out there, who go above and beyond....
  14. Tankman, I have such goosies from your report. Well done! What a man. Such incredible support for your wife to be. She is one seriously lucky woman.
  15. Tents are perfect. Nothing wrong with them. Similar to Sani2c. Was very comfortable, and just leave your box outside for extra space. And they are along the banks of the river... very swish!!
  16. Please make sure those darn Dabs Paddlers are there..... stole our thunder last year... so close, but soooo much younger! Time for us to whip their A game game into touch!
  17. Can we enter on the day? Did it last year, and loved it. So enjoyed watching the ABSA guys ride. Very inspiring. Such fun riding through the school. How's the track after the rain? No ruts or dangerous stuff?
  18. Totally agree, but having done a few, thought there would be more excitement in the build up. I guess sponsorship has changed hands within the bank, and the budget has been allocated elsewhere. That does in no way affect the event, but certainly has affected the "spoilt'' factor we, as private clients, have experienced in the past. On our first event we had a welcome pack of a towel, ear plugs, soap and an ouch pouch left on each mattress... made a huge difference, as I had forgotten to pack a towel! Having said that, the route last year was better than the year before, with the addition of "Paris Roubaix" along the river, and the floating bridge at the end. I can't wait to see what it is in store for this year!
  19. As the owner of a group of preschools, and keen cyclist, I have bought a number of balance bikes in the past, with a view to getting kids on bikes without the parents having to teach them. 2 negatives from my perspective. Having tubes in the tyres is a pain, as they are very difficult to pump up with such a small wheel. Rather have solid wheels. The kids do ram them into each other and objects, causing punctures. Would be awesome to have a slightly bigger version for 4-6 year olds. In a preschool, pedals would be a problem, as they catch on stairs, tyres, ankles, etc, whatever is in the playground. But the smaller bike is too short for some of my older kids. Big positive, is that ALL the kids who leave my schools post 4 years old, CAN ride a bike!!
  20. She will grow out of a 24 inch very quickly. Also depends on how keen she is on riding. My 14 year old son is on a medium 26 inch frame, but keen to move up to 27.5. He is an avid rider, though. I have his old 26 Scott Small aluminium, he is now on a BH carbon. We paid R11k for it 18 months ago. It has been ridden hard in XCO races at Thaba Trails, but I certainly wouldn't part with it for less than R6k. If she's a keen rider, spend a little more.
  21. Agree. Thought there would be much more hype. Only entered because it is the 10th.
  22. If it was up to me, @ 1m 65, I would ride 27.5, hardtail. But when a beautiful Rocky Mountain FS 29er is handed to you as a gift.........
  23. Please, that bike should retail for R45k. I have one if you are interested.
  24. Can anyone tell me where the parking is for Breedts Nek ride? We parked on private land last year, and had a few drinks after from their little restaurant, but I cannot describe how to get there, and I see nothing on Google.
