  1. Assume that this only applies to windscreen and not the rear window?
  2. sweet - been trying to get one of these locally! Are these approved by anyone though, like SABS? for insurance reasons... wait - R300 shipping? are you seroius?
  3. Freehub body on xt is much better than on slx. The 29er specific slx hubs also have the better Freehub, with one less seal I believe. The freewheel went on my stock hub a few months back, replaced it with an xt hub, really like it. Another option is to get an xt hub from crc, of the freebody if they have it seperate - think I paid 500 for my xt hub vs 2k for a hope one My preference was to get a good hub for as little as possible, also prefer forged hubs over cnc hubs for their strength, and prefer servicing cone and cup over having to find new bearings Just my opinion, I know there is some backlash coming
  4. Interested in the issues you are having with shimano hubs - guessing its trouble adjusting the cup cone? It may be easier to get the cup cone thing working than building new wheels (although less fun) like others said, double butted brand name is best. Boxed spokes often come with brass nipples, these last longer and are easier to work with than Al nipples, Al nipples if you really want to save weight at the expense of having to replace the nipples every year or so. Wheel builder is nb, or taking the time to learn the skill for yourself (there are some great books) An alternative solution might be to get the hubs working correctly instead of building new wheels
  5. Ok, so this is my 1st race - what do I need to know? Tips and unspoken rules for not annoying other riders? What are the tents like at Mankele?
  6. How much tougher is Helderkruin / Cascades than the Hurlingham jumps ? And how much more travel is 'needed' ? Can do the Hurlingham line no problem on my 100mm dual sus, wondering if there are other DH/Enduro type places I could ride - or is it out of the question without more travel? And if I were to get more travel, what is the minimum amout of travel for an all rounder that can do these tracks? (noticed someone using a 150mm 29er for world champs at cascades?)
  7. Have to agree, technically a 29er should have more grip in the corners, and this has certainly been my experiance - does take practice though
  8. Oops... Guess I'll be at the back then... How long are the stages?
  9. What is the appropriate action to take when sootting mx in delta? Someone to call?

  11. I can see a pair of crutches in a couple of the OLX pics...
  12. I did that this week, 1 local order and 1 international order. Unfortunately the local order arrived with incorrect items - still waiting to hear back from the local site in this case...
  13. For your body to increase muscle mass it needs to be told (hormones) and needs the fuel (excess protein) Testosterone levels decrease as we get older - probably not what you want to hear, but have you considered hormone replacement therapy? Basically a doctor prescribing testosterone injections, the same stuff muscle heads at the gym use, but in the proper doses. Another way to increase testosterone is lifting weights, or any proper resistance training, but you said up front that you didnt want to do that. There are several other factors that influence testosterone production, in my opinion their effects are too small to really be considered. If you used to be ok with the same food intake, then its unlikely that changing your diet will fix things - although excess protein is required to build any muscle. That could mean eating more protein, or eating more in general, thus leaving the protein available to turn into muscle instead of being used for energy. lots of books available on this topic
  14. +1 except Flow not Arch
  15. just dont forget to re-tune your suspension after letting some out - massive reduction on unsprung mass will require some change in dampening settings for sure
  16. +1 Put a lot of love into mine, spent a few evenings getting the tension high and even
  17. Arch are probably fine, got the Flows because because I am learning and often case jumps badly Mine also replaced a set of Alexrims that had been rebuilt a few times too many Factory built wheels are usually not great IMHO. They are built by machine, usually with low spoke tensions - couple of good books on the subject of wheel building - personally they changed the way I look at wheels
  18. Hope he makes a full recovery - all the best
  19. running Flow ex on shimano hubs, 110kg with kit, they take a beating as I'm a noob and case everything - still running true
  20. So many names of places to learn - is there a spruit map somewhere with all the names written down? For months I wondered why people called one of the sections the DHL line when it was clearly quite flat
  21. Here is a pic with my back to the jump... Doesnt help I know, but just want to make sure we are talking about the same place...
  22. Would like to know myself - concerned
  23. Old parks is correct, looked on thw map now, sorry about that, always thought it was a school The big dip just before the concrete bridge, there is an optional drop into it and 2 jumps coming out
