  1. And it’s here boys. Strap in for 2 hours of goodness🤗
  2. Also part of the issues in the world is people taking offence to everything.
  3. People can wear what they want mate. I hate this elitist mentality in cycling.
  4. After her performances this year, I’d expect shes already got some nice options for next season on her table.
  5. So anyways following on from my initial question regarding trail conditions. I went out and did Bloemendaaler this morning as recommended and then back down Rooikat. It’s been a while since I’ve been down the ‘daaler but can I just say that trail after the refurb is absolutely brilliant now. Basically bone dry as well, so much grip and with the refurb it’s been completely flattened and redone so no ruts or anything. You can really have fun down there now. Rooikat, if anyone is interested, also pretty much completely dry. They were also busy flattening out the second rooikat descent so once that’s done it should ride quite nicely as well.
  6. I like this as well. Would like or even more of it was the actual medal that was different and not the ribbon.
  7. Sounds like cheating to me😂. I think I should maybe test one out proper before I comment on it but yeah I dunno I’m still old school I think. Wont be buying one anytime soon as well. Bikes are so blady expensive as it stands just maintaining 3 of them is enough for now.
  8. If this is the case then yeah, I don’t think they’re gonna be doing there reputation any more favours in terms appeasing everyone. Whether they care or not is a different question. I guess this is what Patrick keeps rambling on about in every update he does. I’m not really sure how I feel about this. I’m all for e-bikes assisting people especially going uphill. But slamming the thing in turbo mode on a descent to accelerate out of corners, i dunno man.
  9. Forgive my ignorance here but why would you need turbo mode going downhill? Or have I misunderstood?
  10. Chat with someone using the chat function on the website instead of sending an email. They normally respond quickly.
  11. Problem is if you dont test it beforehand, your stomach might not be able to handle it in a race situation. And then obviously getting your gut accustomed to it costs a whole lot of money. I’ve made the switch to Tailwind nutrition and haven’t looked back. It’s so much easier on your gut and if i do go on longer rides i try and supplement it with proper food instead of just sugary stuff.
  12. Is the entire upper bloemies good to ride or just bloemendaaler? I know most of upper bloemies was in dire need of maintenance before the rains already but can’t remember now if that was actually repaired or not.
  13. It’s also a 600km round trip to make for that event. I was kinda hoping to just ride out from my house straight to the trail which are located 10km from my house.
  14. Fantastic
  15. They need a proper signing to be honest. Obviously getting Tadej or Jonas is impossible so you’d think the next one in line is Remco. Im not sure what his situation is with Quick step but i feel like he needs to a better team if he wants to get close to the Pog and Jonas. To me this is the most logical move. Otherwise they’re gonna have to try and get the next big thing but it seems like even that they seem to be getting it wrong in comparison to UAE as an example.
  16. So with the weather looking good this weekend, I really want to get back out on the trails. We still have rain till wednesday I think but hopefully dry weather after that. Taking into account all of this, any suggestions on what the best trail to hit would be? I was at Hoogies couple of weeks back and that farm road before getting to the trails was full of mud. Im assuming going down welvergenoegd by diep river will be clogged as well. Conties perhaps, but cheeky corners was closed last time i went. Not sure about supertubes. I did Hillcrest 2 weeks back and because of the rocky terrain actually had a tumble as the rocks were still damped so slid out. So yeah anyone that’s been out recently and can confirm the best trails to hit purely on current trail conditions. I dont really care which farm tbh, Im just desperate to get out but obviously would prefer to skip the trails where more damage was taken.
  17. Yeah ofcourse the race I didn’t enter will have perfect weather 🤦🏻‍♂️
  18. All these pics are amazing. Really tempted to give this a bash but also a bit skeptical with the weather. Already had old Hermon cancelled and now I see paarl bike fest postponed as well. So will probably decide the week of the race. Fingers crossed most of the bad weather is done after this coming week.
  19. Yeah if you struggle to open your valve then the sealant is clogging it up. I have the same issue right now with my bike when pumping the wheels just haven’t had a chance to sort it out.
  20. Wow, this sucks. This race was on my list events for the future. I think the closest race to this is the Prince George 100 miler. Maybe someone that’s done both can comment on the differences.
  21. Is this legit? This all seems very shady to me🤣
  22. Following on from my initial post, I see the shipping cost has now increased from 20 to 50 euros. It might be worth your while to find out a bit more about this because with that sort of price jump, you’d asssume its not a post office but a proper courier delivery.
  23. I keep hearing people say this but to me last year felt worse. I dunno if it’s just the memory of last years Old Hermon that has left me scarred completely, but I felt like last year it rained even harder and the proof was basically all the damage in Franschhoek and other areas.
  24. Honestly so over this poor weather already.
  25. I would keep the men’s race at 3 weeks but shorten the stage lengths. You don’t need to do over 200km just flat. Those are pretty boring bar the final 5km’s. But the men’s race is way more advanced in terms of the entire field. In other words the fitness level across the whole field is a lot more consistent. This isn’t the case with the ladies so essentially what would happen is the less strong women would really suffer if it it was longer than 7 days and you’d have this select group that is just way better than the rest. This is already evident just in the way teams ride in the women’s race. It’s a lot more individual compared to the men. One thing I have noticed in the last 2 years since the start of the women’s Tour de France is that the women find it much harder to control a breakaway and that’s mainly because the teams as a whole are not as strong as the men’s.
