  1. Sounds FAST
  2. I think we often do the reverse...feed 95 octane fuel to a Fiat Uno expecting V8 performance... Only as good as the Human engine you have created! No shortcuts...
  3. Like in any sport, there's always a bunch of DICKS...When you have these chaps starting to hurt, it ain't gonna bring out there best side...Just ignore and remember why you there. Definitely not to please them! Secondly, don't be too sensitive.
  4. SBR on Saturday...hard as usual with a bit of wind. Enjoyed the ride. Was good to see a few riders sharing the suffering!
  5. If they can get up the first climb...my wife is still pissed off with me for suggesting she do the "small 10km loop"..
  6. Yes I would also like to know what snake that was....
  7. 100% agree
  8. How you gonna hit 83 kph on the downs on that????? just no fun
  9. Red face on first climb...White Swift
  10. For those like me who don't do Strava...I made a SBR 56km segment on Garmin connect. Measured from entrance boom of the first climb to T-junction of the main entrance road. A good automatic measure of my ride to compare my times. welcome to use it...see screen capture below to look for the segment. 11. I agree, a good time around SBR is a nice fitness reference, but the real gem is the beautiful setting and no traffic...if it wasn't for SBR, I would have stuck to MTB and never experienced the joy of a road bike...
  12. Riding there on Sat I thought i saw a pool of blood in the middle of the road crossing one of the bridges. I hope is was someones energy drink...
  13. On a MTB that's SERIOUS!
  14. And then you get the folk who do 2 laps... one day, perhaps before the end of the year...
  15. How's your times around there? I try use the place to have a safe road ride that's good for training...push up the hills, recover on the flats but enjoy the downs!
  16. The PLACE to learn to climb the hills. In Jhb at least! As long as I don't get chicked again Head winds were a bit nasty last weekend. My times are getting better which means the legs are slowly getting there...SBR rocks, on tar....
  17. I'll be there the weekend too. Getting warm...still opens at 730am. R25 entry fee.
  18. It will be interesting to see what you get for the bike. IMO you asking a bit much for a rigid fork, single speed bike. Perhaps a very narrow customer base for this setup. I paid R15k for my Cotic with a Lefty and 2x10 setup a few years back. I guess even that was a bit high. GLWTS.
  19. Entered! Will be my 2nd time doing this race.
  20. Damn that's bike porn right there! Beauty!
  21. Perhaps time to start a "show us your Swift" page.... 73km/hr at Suikerbosrand on Sunday. Stable as can be with that crazy wind... Only my self preservation holding the bike back! My legs aren't so happy after the 2h15 ride . Great place to test the bike with those fancy Token wheels!
  22. Think You'll enjoy the ride. Great frame! Love mine at speed!
  23. That was a year ago, fortunate to get out with a few scratches and a burst tube... Back to pics that WANT to make us ride
