  1. Lately, I find the best recovery after a lap at SBR, is the fetal position in bed while I cry myself to sleep... Need to train more to earn the recovery
  2. There are a few training gods on the HUB!!! RESPECT. Sorry for the digital PK VeeBee You not the only chap managing 6hrs a week! The old lady next door who has just had a hip operation does about the same hrs walking Can't say I do much more either...
  3. The final build...I'll replace the current shock with a rigid carbon fork soon. Overall I think its a cool pimped Steel bike, with a difference... Would I use these guys again? NO! Look for a more professional outfit who keep to there word... Lessons learned, but now back to the riding!
  4. OP, I really feel for you and your frustration. I don't think one person here wishes this on any Hubber... But we are all looking at the facts and wondering who's right and wrong and adding the comments/logic to the forum. When it doesn't affect you directly, it is easy to criticize... S.A is a small pool in the Ocean of Canyon sales. Is there a Canyon blog with overseas people experiencing the same issues? That would be interesting!
  5. What I love about Rouvy is that the system is so versatile! I'm trying to get back into a training routine again...I don't want to follow a route until I can push the watts and do the course justice... I use Free Ride on Rouvy and then put a CTS video on the telly (kind of a sinning video). As the video changes from steady state, to climbs, to sprints, I manually change the power (resistance) with the up and down arrows (I use Apple Ipad). Really a great workout and I can adjust the power settings as i build up strength.
  6. An HD video has never helped me up a 14% climb before...so I've never been critic about video resolution while the sweat drips over my tablet... Zwift does seem to make it easy to just climb on and ride!
  7. Finally, after another month of waiting, I should get the completed frame back this week to build!
  8. I was driving down Modderfontein Road (P91) towards Illiondale in Gauteng yesterday. In the morning, taxis and other cars drive in the emergency lane. Traffic cops try stop them but it's futile... Running up hill in the emergency lane was a lonesome old white bearded guy, flipping the bird to all the taxi drivers and cars as they swerved around him. He refused to budge! At first I thought, wow, what a guy taking on all these illegal drivers... Afterwards I wondered, does it matter whether he was totally right...Dead is dead. It does not matter if you in the right when a vehicle hits you. A car or taxi will always win the fight. So should we all behave like this chap and fight for what is right no matter the risk. Or do we acknowledge that even if we want to do what is right, there is no changing the status quo...
  9. Help me understand the ways of Bogan culture...
  10. That's an interesting HARD TAIL
  11. Crashed...Shoulder separation...Hook Plate in...Hook Plate out... 4 months later...Lets ride again!
  12. Does any one think the mic drop was not in the TDF spirit? Were the French a little taken back by the mic drop? Does anyone care what the French think? I thought it was cool, but also a dig at the French spectators for booing and piss throwing!
  13. Hang in there Dirtypot. The first 10 days is difficult! Something to look forward too...had my hookplate out on Thursday last week. Operation was a lot easier than the first time around. So glad the plate is finally out! Shoulder movement feels free again without the "end-of-shoulder" pain and discomfort! I just need to be patient with the cut to heal and then I'm back on the bike again
  14. If you can live with the French commentators: https://www.firstonetv.net/Live/France/France-2-11
  15. Did a 19km, 1400m climb with Rouvy on Wednesday night...Almost gave up twice. 1h36 later and lots of sweat, I finished!
  16. Are you doing a team race or a single entry race? A good experienced partner will help!
  17. No.1 - Indoor trainer intervals No.2 - Modders double laps on Wednesday nights No.3 - SBR sub 3hr a must No.4 - 2 x SBR sub 5hr No.5 - Recover enough to do the race No.6 - The most important thing - Make sure you have a GOOD CRAP before you race each day Lastly, don't forget to actually enjoy the experience!
  18. Ok, Chatted to Mohammed now. I'll send the the frame back and he has promised to redo the complete frame again, proper this time! Hopefully second time lucky.
  19. I think that would have been a safer bet. The print looks good, just the finish or non finish is crap.
