  1. Oh hectic. That sounds like a plan
  2. I rode with ergon grips for a while, and didn't like the fact that the grips forced a specific hand/wrist angle. I like to drop my wrists a little when riding certain technical sections, as to put more force "behind the bike" rather than "down on top of the bike". It's the only reason I went back to esi grips....
  3. Apparently wider is the new narrow of rolling resistance. They've done tests.
  4. I had loads of fun today. Loads. I have a lot of work to do, but it helped so much to have someone who understands the movements to give you the right pointers. Thanks Peach. If you're even a little bit curious, Go for it. Really worthwhile.
  5. So I'm not necessarily worried about the pricing.... That was just for benchmarking really. I will go have a discussion with them to let them know about the issues. I think they at least need a chance to fix any problems. For the record, I had not rushed them at all. I told them to keep the bike as long as they needed to. I'll let you know what happens. This whole thing could turn into a great service story if they make things right. Plus, they are going to have to wash my bike again to take a look at it properly. ;-)
  6. Awesome. I'm looking forward to Wednesday!
  7. I love my rocky. It has a bit of a tendency to clump, but I have it dialed perfectly for my favorite beans now. It's still a bit noisy....
  8. I got myself a new tamper last week. Nothing too fancy, but it's made a huge difference. I'm rancilio all round now. Rocky, Sylvia, and rancilio rose wood tamper. I'm a huge addict and coffeesnob!
  9. Sorry, I didn't mean actual forum poll...
  10. -Pro tune service R 1568 (Full strip down and re-build, including new gear cables and brake bleed) -Front suspension service R 855 -ABEC-3 BEARINGS 15X28X7MM/6902 x2 R 114 -BRG ENDURO BEARINGS 15 X 24 X x3 R 366 - SHM SM-BB91-42A MTB P-FIT 42MM R 545 -HEADSET BEARING CC 52MM 1.5X45 R 231
  11. I took my bike in for a service. Full service, including new bearings all round, new BB, new cables, fork and shock service. Cost me R3700. Ouch. It came back with the chain incorrectly threaded through the rear derailleur, the back brake calliper not even tightened onto the frame properly, and a creaky headset. Do I : A ) Sort it all out myself and never go back B ) Go and complain and let them touch my bike again (sort out the issues) C ) Let the know that it's happened but still fix things myself I'm seriously pissed off, but don't feel like being a shouty customer. I'll also give them the opportunity to respond before I throw the name out there..... Just wondering what the hubber feeling is on the pricing and type of service....
  12. That's just mean. I have been lusting after one of these for ages!
  13. Oh. Road bike.... Alright then...
  14. I'm 1.98m, and I ride a giant Anthem x 1 XL. It took a bit of fiddling with setup, but I'm comfortable on it now, and can even throw it around a bit since I got a dropper post. Honestly, I think it was the single most important thing that increased my comfort in terms of control and feel over the technical stuff. Other than that, I have test ridden the specialized epic, which was really comfy right off the bat... Just too steep for my wallet... Before the dropper, I always felt a little too much "on top of the bike" rather than "together with the bike".
  15. Such good news. I'm excited.
  16. Here's my route. Total of 38km from Craigavon. Includes some stuff out the back of Fourways gardens though...
  17. OK, so your route was a little different to mine. I'll post a pic of mine now, but would love a copy of your GPX file if possible?
  18. Doesn't seem to work on the edge 500....
  19. So I went and did some exploring and found some stuff. If anyone is interested, I'll upload the GPX file...
  20. The best thing I did for my elixirs was to fit organic pads. The noise won't go away but the braking performance improves drastically. Also, bleed if they feel spongy. If you still feel you HAVE to replace them, then go with slx. No need for XT brakes!
  21. Cycle Lab in Fourways had one not so Long ago in 30.9... Maybe give them a call. It was being stored "in the back". Ask for Byron.
  22. I'm sure it was, but if all the soil from the landing zone was removed, and not just hacked to the side, it seems like "theft" too? Although I'm not sure who the soil in the ramp technically belongs to, but I'm sure council wouldn't like it... The ramp destruction is just plain asshole. The removal of stuff (soil or drain covers) is another matter...
  23. Not to mention the "removal" of most of the drain manhole covers...
  24. Kids are starting to get like the brats in the UK!
  25. I think weekends work better for exploring, but I could try fit in midweek too...
