  1. I print PLA+ most of the time, ABS requires an enclosure and its not worth in my opinion. PETG is also great but its a bit expensive. Did you go SKR1.3 for the 32-bit processing? My ender 5 was the model that came factory fitted with the silent board and TMC2208's. Only real noise comes from cooling fans which are quite noisy. Considering doing a bullseye mod or similar. Also looking with interest at a Hemera/BL touch combo.
  2. One of my squash mates had it done last week. His GP did it in the rooms for him... Im not sure I would want my GP doing that but he was apparently a specialist in the past and has done hundreds of snips.
  3. TMC2208/9's? Silent fans?
  4. The sun is more vicious these days. I grew up in the sea, I had a permanent tan year round. Sure we used sunblock considering you would be in the water for 4 hours+ but after it had worn off we didnt burn easily. These days I can spend 15 minutes in the sun and get sunburn. This despite using sunblock.
  5. Sorry to hear that bro, had the same thing happen with my inlaws dog about a year ago. They just get more and more tired as the blood oxygen levels drop and its really sad
  6. I find being vegetarian a whole lot cheaper than eating meat. Its probably about the same if not more expensive(than meat) to be full vegan though with all of the substitutes you have to use. The idea of being a full vegan is great but its just a little too much for me at this point.
  7. Yeah its super unreasonable to expect your neighbors to stop braaing because you dont like the smell of it. I can understand the basketball thing though, that could drive anyone insane.
  8. Yeah fair enough, Im sure its different for everyone. For me it was a case of my wife experimenting with all veg meals. They were so good that we just started having them more often and now we dont eat meat anymore. Honestly I dont like the meat substitutes, they never taste anything like the real thing and the texture is just wrong. I saw a few people that are fully vegan have mentioned earlier in this thread that you have to put a little more effort into flavours when cooking and know your spices to get the most out of it.
  9. It just keeps getting better as it goes!
  10. This is really left field, its Australian humor in a badly drawn cartoon that completely and utterly had me hooked. Its a youtube series that had a few episodes on comedy central so youtube is the only place to watch it. The language is really strong, it is Australian after all, so it wont be for everyone. The only thing I regret about watching it is that Im left wanting more :/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCV1G6JkQtB2nobFm3MGNsBQ
  11. Honestly its not a hard thing to do. There are also lots of benefits to it so I cant imagine why anyone would be against it.
  12. Try throwing in some anchovies next time you do a stew, you wont notice the fishy taste and they will have disintegrated by the time its done. Its a tip given to me by a really good chef and it makes a definite difference.
  13. You need to pay more attention in school, it will help you to string a coherent sentence together.
  14. Yup, slap on a BMS(if there isnt already) and MPPT controller and add panels. The concern I have is with the proposed "availability fee" that eksdom is talking about. Municipalities wont allow you to *not* be connected because its one of their major sources of income. So Im expecting that even with a fully off-grid solution there would be minimum costs of a few hundred rand a month. Currently the sweet spot seems to be a smaller grid-tied solution to augment your usage, that always comes with the caveat that you need to use the power while it is being generated unless you start adding batteries which triples the cost.
  15. My alarm went off at 3am this morning because of load shedding. Seems I need a new battery for it, as a side note it seems my batteries in my inverter are also shot because Im only getting about an hour run time on it. Thanks Eskom!
  16. The Brits are nutty. But yeah I guess some people have been treating it like a religion for a while already.
  17. I probably would have done the same! great bike that.
  18. Lol so the most active thread on the cycling forum was about running! Also Dale you are slacking this year, strange not seeing you at the top of the poster list for a change.
  19. My wife has a swift, its 4 years old and has 3900km on it... should last a fair while!
  20. That is exactly what I have been saying all along, shoving ideas down someone's throat will not convince them of anything. But a conversation around what is possible and how it helps makes people think twice.
  21. Look dont get me wrong about Odi's passion, Im glad that he believes so firmly in a meat free diet for all. The way he goes about it will never win anyone over though. Odi in general has always been a bit of a troll so its nothing new. I might sound like dislike him but that really isnt the case, he is a lovable knob and I very much support his moral stand on not killing animals.
  22. It was the same with Odi, he fortunately backed off on being such a knob and the thread then started going in a really good direction. Suddenly a kid appears with such a high EQ that us mere mortals simply dont understand him. The boomers all fail at translating his hormone fueled millennial messages and therefore the pearls of wisdom are lost. On a more serious note, I doubt he is even a vegan, it takes commitment and a bit of sacrifice to stick to it. Unless of course mom does all the thinking and he just goes with it.
  23. They really need to implement an age limit on this forum.
  24. Also remember that there is no shame in using the 60 grit gouge if making cuts will get you in trouble!! It gets a lot easier after a while, turning is still my first love in woodworking and Im really enjoying it again lately.
