  2. HI Just looking for some advice. Was knocked of my bike quite badly approx 8 weeks ago. Two fingers broken etc. Anyway only lingering issue is my knee. SO I have two options it seams. One is to have the arthroscopy done and at the same time have fixed whatever is the problem. and two do the MRI 2.5 k co payment, but know exactly beforehand what awaits. I have major anxiety around the fact that i may not be able to drive for six weeks. My other major gripe at the moment is I cannot stand and pedal. At the moment, physio suggested i lower my saddle on my trainer to increase knee range of motion. Basically very confused at the moment . Dr Graig Solomon at Gape gate medi clinic is the surgeon. Any Advice welcome. Regards Paul
  3. to be 100% honest I remember zero of the incident itself. I know it was not a stop for me but one for the driver for sure. I managed too split a Catlike whisper in two

  5. hi Guys Came down Kendall in the cycle lane at about 55km/h. Car turned into Kendall from Loerie I basically had nowhere to go. Into and over the corolla. Ambulance, operations, 49 xrays all this on the night of 24 April. There was an eyewitness driving behind be witnessing the whole event. Nobody who saw it happen gave me a chance but I am very blessed. Only two fingers broken on the right hand. 17 Stitches in my left leg. The wires in my fingers coming out 4 June. Left leg and knee still tender. All stitches removed all ready. All that and one merida 5000 gone. Which my insurance replaced. One lucky Boy and a special mention to Captain Fatbastard Mayhem This is the MAN to Speak to about medical aid. Really no bullshitt about that

  10. Ok So this is the planning phase just about done, been in CT since sunday. Feel in the mood to hit this in the morning tommorrow. Any ideas for less traffic even if increases distance. Although I feel traffic is rather manageable at 6 in the morning. 18. HI Guys I suppose i know the problem is a mental one. I have have always been a slow rider and every year sets my target at 5000 kilometers for the year. This year i just might make it. I have done K2C (for the 5th time) this year . Still slow 7:30 but comfortable. I have done my first ever sub 4 100km road ride during the last 10 days. Current (in a perfect world) training regime. Some sort of Zwift plan during the week, Currently Grand Fondo. A longish ride weekends 60km or about 3 hours. A timetrial effort of about 20km on the other day of the weekend. A functional Gym session. very much core based A mobility gym session. Light Core and more assisted stretching So the question? How do i bridge that gap and feel less scared shitless about going 150km on a mtb (or any bike) Regards Paul *If it scares and excites you at the same time you should probably do it

  20. Not leg warmers cold. Temp was 1 degree at 7. Now a lot better. If it stays the same , perfect riding conditions. Even wind (light) is straight at your back this morning
