    **** - just saw this. Barry was the first Hubber I ever met. Someone had found a dog and TW was adopting it, so I picked it up in Randburg and dropped it with him down Benoni way. He was such a great guy. Insisted on buying me a beer, even though he had just stopped drinking, and spent an hour or two chatting to a total stranger. Really genuine guy.     That's the question. Do you differentiate the classifieds from the forum community or are they the same thing? Personally I rarely, if ever, look at the classifieds, even when I lived in SA, but would be interested to know if there is a large contingent that looks at the classifieds and has zero interest in the community aspect?

    1 degree, lots of frost, but the sun was out and the trails were stunning here in Northern Ireland yesterday

    I got a lekker £80 voucher for CRC for Christmas from my team. Had an awesome time working out what to buy. Ended up with the book and a Camelbak and a few bits and pieces.

    Sani this year, I ended up at the medics at ten pm on night one as my heart rate wouldn't drop below 140. Medic took my details and said I would not be allowed to start then next day unless I saw him first to get checked and signed off. Maybe he was exaggerating but he seemed to have the authority to remove me from the race.

    True Those mark-ups are pretty reasonable for a retailer. 50% mark-up equals a 33% gross margin, which will be eaten quickly by costs. Would be surprised if the nett margin is more than 10 or 12 percent.

    I wouldn't bugger around, just ride from pmb to Hilton and back until you get the 2500. I used to ride down that hill to school and back up again to get home back in the day

    Still hopeful. Was planning to do 120 today but life has caught up with me and I will be using the time to catch up on work and then watch the rugby match this afternoon that my son decided to tell me about at breakfast today. I also failed to mention to my wife that I was at home today and, on finding out this morning, she remembered some urgent horse related tasks that have to be done today. Oh well, let's see what tomorrow brings
