  1. Does any one know how the racing categories will work during the TOGH. Elites is obvious. But Team, open ,age cats? Anyone?
  2. I think the main culprit was actually receiving that UCI accreditation. Lots of fine print that was never taken into consideration and adjustments had to be made to ensure every box is ticked. For 2020 they have way more time so can get all the required approvals way in advance.
  3. Afternoon, Can someone please assist with a route profile or Strava File. Would like to see all the climbs so I can prepare myself for them Tnx
  4. Crossing the white line only happens when cross winds are at play, $ don't just decide to ride across both lanes for the fun of it. But you will need to ride there to understand. That being said, at least 2km of this was covered by marshals and without realising this we had a rolling road closures going, yes maybe forced but we had it with marshals warning the cars ahead and the cars actually giving way. Real problem started when the break was way ahead and required the marshal/s to move up leaving the peloton "unprotected" and this is where the problem is and will always be, basically groups that are dropped.
  5. Have a question Im coming from a fairly decent base block and have managed to push my fitness to an all time high. I am however approaching my goal event and started introducing Intervals, by doing this Im starting to see a steady decline in my fitness as Im changing just riding around into more structured rides. Questions Are 1: Im I doing to little intervals for current fitness ? 2: If its normal for the decline , what would be an acceptable decline. 3: Should I increase my z2 ride time to make up some TSS from that regards, maybe introduce a morning and evening spin. Any advice will be highly appreciated. Regards
  6. Well Done Cyclopaths Cycling Club. Really looking forward to this event, form might not be where it should be but should still be great fun. Great way to the weekend worriors to expience a multi stage race and a fraction of the price.
  7. So while out cycling between all the CT Marthon Runners the bug bit me.... So looking at giving running a go, have no idea how i will be able to fit this into an already 10-13 hours a week cycling.. But why not. Would like to do a half before end of year. Plan would be Easy 5km 3 x times a week and start building from there. Lets hope old body can keep up. Then the big one, how will this influence my cycling?
  8. Had an Easy/Lazy week. Not getting enough sleep and feeling it. 433 79% 7hours This coming week should be interesting to see how the body handles big load. 800-1000 TSS in 3 days
  9. Guesstimate would be +3/5% on current ftp..but nothing over the top Did a zone 2 ride yesterday on IDT in Erg Mode 200watts avg for 2:00 Wattsboard telling me 101 TSS If worked back to 60min@FTP=100TSS formula it should have been in the 120s.. Could it be that it takes HR into consideration as well as Watts? Tnx
  10. Tnx for reply spinnekop. Judging from what i can see wattsboard work it out from NP. My power for the race: 235 Avg 270 NP Current FTP set at 310 So based on the above They worked my TSS out on NP and not AVG. Could this be the reason for my inflated TSS per week as per wattsboard?
  11. Hi John, as always appreciate your advise. Will just take Sundays race numbers on Wattsboard: Time : 2:05 TSS : 154 IF : 84 When looking at the 60min @ FTP =100tss Would assume you take your NP and not AVG Power. Tnx
  12. Anyone on Wattsboard and TP? How do the two compare WRT TSS etc? Im using Wattsboard and somehow the number seems a little high. Based on Wattsboard my numbers for last week: 896 TSS 12.30 Hours 68% Intensity
  13. Had to dig a little deep for this race, Was surprisingly very hard for me Very Good Training to Savage Boys ...Did tons of work upfront
  14. Been Ramping it up a little : Last 7 days TSS AVG per day 90.3 Intensity 81 % Past 30 Days TSS AVG per day 105 Intensity 75%
  15. and here I was thinking I'm the only unwise one to take on the TT blind. You are very brave to take on those small hills without having done them at an easier pace before Franschoek Pass = 7.3 km @ 6.6 Du Toits Back 26.1km @ 2.3% Du Toits Front 12.1 @ 4.8 Bains 9,2 @ 3.5 Taal Monument = 2km Lots of pain ... only place where special gearing might be required, for the rest 39/25 should be fine but I will be running a 39/28 all the way for when I get dropped and nothing left in the legs
  16. Eina, All the best to you.. hopefully you will be back on bike soon soon
  17. Hopefully we will get a 40kph+ SE blowing on the day. I need to collect stories to tell my grandkids some day
  18. Sub Vets as well Would have actually preferred a team race for my first multi day event , have some support around me. But 1 thing is for sure in sub vets ...there will be no GENTLE
  19. So ....... 7 days to GO  Wont lie, I am seriously nervous and very exited at the same time, never done a stage race before so will be very interesting to see how body takes the load and keep on going at that type of intensity. Never done a TT before ,yes should have put in some time on the bars ..but where the fun in that. Going in Blind So to the gents that's been there and got a shirt....please share all the how's, what to look out for ..the when ETC ETC TNX
  20. Had a few Partial loads already, seems like damaged is normally caused when trying to upload to Strava from Zwift as that normally hangs a little. Nothing I could do to fix this, when you go download ride on zwift , it says partial on it and data is missing.
  21. Tnx Guys : Would not say it was pure luck but there was a lot of luck involved, really didn't expect it. Biggest goal was DO NOT GET DROPPED and when you eventually do get dropped make sure its past the 100km mark
  22. Tnx S2S as they had a big role in the below Bronze vet 30-34 Age Cat @ SA Champs 2017
