  1. Every year on the run into Montagu we have the fast teams roaring past us and I get fast team envy. My team is always out for a social dawdle
  2. How nice and motivating for prospective new members
  3. This is only relevant if you had subscribed before November last year, and means that you go up to the same rate as everyone who signed up after November 2017. So it's not an across the board price increase.
  4. True, but at least when you want to go to bed you can sleep in peace. Although with the amount of beer I had on Saturday night I could have slept inside a trance party...
  5. I really enjoyed that! Never ridden there before but I want to go back - that's my kind of terrain! Lekka event, great communal area and amazing vibe for the whole weekend.
  6. Built up my Nextie wheels yesterday - they look really chunky, especially the front with the 2.4 on it. Despite using bigger and heavier tyres front and rear the weight of the bike has dropped by 250g I'm not a weight weenie by any means, but it's nice to have bigger tyres with all of their benefits and still have less weight overall. I've run out of time to test them though, so they'll be getting a shakedown this weekend at Eselfontein! Hope I've built them properly
  7. I've ridden a Wreckoning with a coil Push. It's a thing of beauty. The wheel feels like its always on the ground, always giving maximum grip, never bouncing or bucking, always smooth and buttery. It's amazing
  8. My Nextie's arrived! Now just waiting on the spokes so I can lace them up.
  9. As an extra, I wouldn't recommend a loud exhaust on a small capacity single cylinder. They just sound rubbish and are generally excessively noisy.
  10. The spots are great for being seen from the front. Loud pipe is good for presence and can be heard from in front as well (although not as much as after you've gone past obviously). I've always found that the loud pipe gets me noticed more than spots, especially if you're lane splitting - people (generally) hear you coming and move aside whereas with the spots they need to be looking in their mirrors. Both would be my recommendation. If only one is an option then I'd say the pipe - it'll change the character of the bike and add some extra enjoyment.
  11. Michele Harvey was still my favourite
  12. Since talking about this I've been looking at the Tyga website and wishing I still had my old bike... Mine had the same colour scheme as this, but didn't look nearly as good
  13. Seems like they're bringing them out in a 400 soon - going to be launched at a show next month
  14. I didn't know that these existed! Quite cool. I wonder why they didn't use the 400 engine in it? For a commuter, this would be lekka
  15. I used to lust after one of their kits on my old NC30 back in the day. They've been making some really good looking stuff for a long time.
  16. I used to commute into London on a whole bunch of different bikes, but any sports bike was really just a waste. Part of my trip was along the A41 which is pretty much a race track for bikes between the lights but even so the bigger bikes with fairings weren't as fast overall as I was on the supermoto and even that was slower than a Honda SH300i scooter that I had for a while. It was surprising how quick that little thing was. And with a skirt thing, hand things and heated grips it was made for being a winter commuter! Even cornered well. But didn't have the X-factor.
  17. I don't agree. I think this will make a great touring bike. You don't need a 1200 to go long distance, a small capacity bike will be perfect. Stick to the back roads, travel a bit slower, make the most of the journey. Especially as a new rider. This bike will be perfect. I've had bigger bikes, but I keep finding myself looking at these smaller capacities again. It's not all about speed and power.

  19. I'm a local at the hospital now - wouldn't want to not see all my new 'friends' Online, but direct not through USA. They're making them up next week.
  20. Just ordered myself a set of Nextie hoops. Amped!
  21. I need to try to fit that in between the Tour of Innsbruck and riding outside... Where are the rest days? I completed stage 2 last night - wasn't too bad, BIG group! I even rode with the elusive H.A.M. for a while.
  22. I thought the academy had finished?
  23. Maybe I should have asked yesterday... I almost forgot about it myself
