  1. Ooh, perfect! Thanks!
  2. My tracking page (the whole FC website actually) is giving a 502 Bad gateway error. Just me or are others having the same issue?
  3. Last years route was only 20.66 on my GPS. But despite the measly distance, you're still wrecked afterwards. Lekka day out!
  4. I remember being in primary school and seeing a bike go past every day at lunchtime. It was the highlight of my day and I couldn't wait until I was old enough to get a bike. I started delivering newspapers in the mornings to save money to get a motorbike and managed to get one a short while later. My mom was against me getting one though, so I waited until she went overseas and then bought it. When she came back it was there and then it was too late. Then I just had to wait three years to ride it legally I rode that little 50cc everywhere, even to a bike rally once. I always had the drive to get a motorbike from a young age but my dad had a bike so it was never an odd thing for me. I definitely don't see that drive in today's youths.
  5. Saw this video the other day of this airport. Puts all other airports I've been to, to shame! https://youtu.be/BYCETjh4eMc?t=14
  6. We haven't had snow in years, so some of that would be nice. As well as a lekka Cape storm with multiple fronts bringing in rain and proper huddle in front of the fire weather.
  7. Entered Is there an Ezel Enduro this year? I can't find it anywhere.
  8. One of those was what I had my first big motorbike crash on when I was in matric (Young and dumb.). A braking highside at flat out in top gear. Came over a little crest and there was an unexpected corner. That wasn't a good day.
  9. I saw this whirlybird flying at a RedBull Air Race a while back. It was spectacular! I found it more entertaining than the planes.
  10. The Tenere 700 looks amazing! Its exactly what an adventure bike should be. Enough power, good suspension, light without any gadgets or gimmicks. I love it.
  11. I'm actually cycling around it (this is a cycle forum after all...) and up to around 4000m on one day. If I wanted a 'fyn brag' I would have added in that I'm going to Zanzibar on the way back
  12. If you like the MT09 and are looking for a naked, then why not go for the XSR900? Ticks every box and sounds nuts.
  13. Kilimanjaro
  14. I'm flying next month for the first time in many years. It may be small and insignificant compared to how much some of you fly, but I'm looking forward to it. Going on an A320, an A319 and an ATR42 and then the same in reverse coming back. The Airbus's are SAA, so I hope you've been doing your job well LWB! When I was living in London, I stayed on the Thames on the 20th floor next to the flight path for London City airport and saw the ATR42/72's coming in all the time. Have always wanted to fly on them since then and am excited to finally be trying it out.
  15. Another year of FOMO.... I know three people doing it this year - will be good to watch their progress. It's been interesting seeing the different approaches to training between them.
  16. I toured around Spain using only paper maps and loved it. Look at the map, try to memorize the route and turn off I need to find, forget what I'm looking for, ride 20km in the wrong direction, stop whip out the map and figure out a new route to get lost on again. I ended up on dirt roads in the mountains, roads that had broken and were closed, tiny essentially foot paths between villages, and so many incredible things I would never have seen otherwise. So much better than a GPS telling you where to go. Plus its easier to look for squiggly roads on a paper map. Old school FTW.
  17. That looks like fun!
  18. SAA in pleb class. Don't ruin my fond memories of glamour and stardom!
  19. My first overseas flight was to JFK on a 747 and I sat upstairs! So laarny.
  20. Probably quite badly. But you'll only know about it in 15 years time.
  21. Tron bike unlocked
  22. I have 980m left. I'll climb the alpe tomorrow (already did it today) and click over onto those sweet shinny neon wheels. Can't wait. Stupidly, I've already done about 70,000m in game but was doing the other challenges to get bikes before leaving it to get to the Tron. Stupid me. This was before you could just buy bikes...
  23. I think you're also confusing the drops with XP. Drops accumulate with effort - climb a hill steeper than 3% and you'll get more. Push hard and they trickle in faster. XP is used to determine your level. You gain these by doing more distance or completing workouts. The wait to get into certain sections of Watopia can feel like they're far away, but they'll come soon enough. See it as something to aim towards. If you think its taking ages to get to level 12, then you don't even want to know about how to get the tron bike...
  24. My uncle works for SAA and his direct family get these perks. He added my mom onto his list for a while when she was traveling frequently to the UK. Besides the drastically reduced costs, it meant that she was either bumped into business class or had access to the crew beds to at least get a few hours of proper sleep. When I tried to do the same, all I got was an economy seat with a business class toiletries pack. Not really what I was after...
