  1. I think the easyest place to get a frame X-Rayed would be at a vet. Would also suggest you get it X-Rayed instead of sanding the paint off.

Let's hope the weather grants our request. Tell you what, you have the steak and I'll just take the EPO with a pint of blood. Is that what works ???

New chain, new cassette & new (2nd hand) wheels but same old legs. Thankfully this is a flat race If the weather is dry & wind free it will help and I'll need much more than a steak. Will also have to find some sun screen along the route.

Been toying with the idea for the last 2 years but this year I actually think I have a chance of getting a 2nd lap in. But it will depend on a number of factors like mechanical's (lack there of), weather, how I feel after the 1st lap. You wanna join ? Then you can push me on the N14 & heart break hill twice in 1 day

I'm starting "B" but still undecided about the 2nd lap. If I do decide to do a 2nd lap it will be purely to see what's actually going on. Stopping at some of the watering points etc.

Which means you / we will have to start our 2nd lap before 9H44

Starts 7am from Waterfall park. R Hunter, D Impey & C Froome should do all the pacing ;-) Just a pre-race ride.

If the race is too flat for you then you can just skip it. Nobody forcing you to take part. Besides if you decide to take part then you should easily win it. If I remember correctly this was known as JHB toughest race.

You know what "A" is like and at the 94.7 it's even worse. First of all the prize money in A is greater than in any of the VETS cats, so there could be a good few VETS trying their luck in "A". Secondly there are also a large number of "Elite" riders that ride in "A" This will result in plenty of attacks at a crazy pace which will mean that after 20km I STUFFED and then will suffer the rest of the way. So I rather drop to "B" where I can still achieve my goal and it will hopefully be more civilized (for me). Have a mate who rode "A" last year, he's stronger than me on the climbs and he ended up taking 18 min longer to complete the race because of all the attacks. You on the other hand have sponsors, a fan club, people to impress, an ego, a red bike, etc so you should actually be in "A" but due to your delivery ride last year you've been mistakenly place in "B". Please control yourself in "B" this year and then next year you can play in your natural environment (aka "A" bunch). And STOP making fun of fun riders !!!!!!!!!

    Good luck !!!!!
  11. You should also give me a wad of cash (ok a EFT will be more realistic) each month so that I can sleep better
  12. I understand what you saying but the OP said " freed about about R2600 out of our monthly cash flow " which would mean that they working together. If he had said " freed about about R2600 out of my monthly cash flow " then I think it would be more like your situation.
  13. Your wife / GF is going to m0er you !!!!!! Unless you take out another loan to buy her something just as expensive and then you'll be R60+k in the red. You won't go much faster on that bike Has the guys have said, buy a 2nd hand bike, save and once you have all the $$$ buy the S-Works. I'm also sure that the price of the bike will drop middle of next year as the next range will be due to come out.
  14. If you want to take HGH take it, just do your research properly. There are a lot more people on HGH than you think. Like you said it's the new wonder drug. You will only have a problem in sport (cycling) if you start winning races and at 40 even with HGH I doubt that will happen. After all you aren't really worried about your race result, you taking HGH to combat old age.

To be totally (dis)honest, I put in a good word for you. Explained to them that you actually going to aid me in achieving my target time so they immediately put you into the B bunch. A simple "Thank You" would be nice
  16. IMO replacing the cassette when the chain wears out is a bike shop con. Blades last forever (well almost).
  17. I recently replaced my chain, it was YBN (as sold here on the hub) and I got about 7500km from it. So I'd guess that a 105 should get the same mileage, probably even more. It will depend on how you look after them and how much strain you put them under.

So you in VB/C ?? Just some advice since I know you do a lot more MTB events than road events. NO STOPPING for pictures !!!!! This is a race!! Only stop when you've crossed the finish line.

  25. In your first post you mention that you have a coach, why don't you ask him ? How old are you ? Your age will impact your HR.
