  1. @ Face Plant I don't know anything about the quality of the water at Germiston lake but the JHB Series is normally held by the Yacht club & the BSG Event is held inside the park. For the JHB Series there's been full road closure.
  2. Just enter the Olympic Distance. It's double the distance and only R100 more ;-)
  3. I was just puling your leg. I know somebody who did the same test at Rietvlei and they got very similar results. They did 3 laps and the total time of the 26er was faster than the 29er. But please don't tell anybody as I'll probably get flamed
  4. You obviously seriously confused !!!!! Or there was no air in the 26ers tyres but what you are saying is impossible !!
  5. Yes, we'll both be there. You want to have breakfast afterwards ? What nonsense is this about "hope for a sub 3" ?? Somebody with your talent should be aiming for a sub 2:45 !! I'm going to attempt to do what I did last year and sit on Andy's wheel but this year he's in better form.
  6. Excellent point PATCHES !!! I've also had a bad experience with Linden and have never been back. One of mates went down the same road with them as well, he's also never been back. I've had excellent service from Solomon's Woodmead but then there's a thread here where somebody says they cr@p. Tony Impey Cycles also gets a thumbs up from me. But the best thing is to fix/service your own bike !!!!!!!!
  7. Send me your credit card details and I'll send you a 'nurse' in the colour of your choice !!!
  8. Ha JOE you've made my day. Can just imagine how you reacted
  9. Which ever you fancy, even if you fancy a mixture. All is cool in this day and age. So how is your thumb coming along ? Want a nurse ?
  10. Your thumb will need to be fully healed before a chick comes near you...
  11. This thread is going..............somewhere very fast !!!!
  12. And within a year you'll be buying yourself a proper road bike !!!
  13. That's just prejudice against us roadies but it's ok as we'll be doing the 1st race of the season on that day !! Enjoy, keep safe & clean !!!
  14. There's doping in cycling ???? WTF ? When did this start ??
  15. For you I suggest 1 x Spanish Steak 3 times a day. Intervals might also help Otherwise R15 000 worth of supplements will do the trick.
  16. I agree with you Red Zone. Majority of the guys are just doing it for fun and there's plenty information around. Magazine's, interwebs, chinas, chinas chinas and of course this special place.
  17. I agree. If you read those articles you'd see the 2 Garmin's were different on everything.
  18. Don't think this thread is going as well as he had planned. Not even 1 customer yet............the hub is a tough place !!!! But then again I'm just a roadie and shouldn't be reading this thread at all
  19. It seemed that the SA ladies weren't in talking terms. Seemed they were riding as individuals.
  20. That bike is like a luminous orange/red. The brits worked so hard for nothing. Daryl Impey finished 40th.
  21. Bargain!! Did you buy it ?
  22. Now it's BE:ER time (4 u)
  23. Dopers at the Olumpics - they haven't even start (properly). Did they find the weightlifters ?
  24. Richard it's probably just a personal thing. The main difference is that you can load maps on the 800. But the main reason I love the 800 is because it can display 10 different (500 displays 8) pieces of info on 1 screen and that it has a touch screen ( I used to battle a bit with the buttons on the 500). With the new software you can also setup 5 different bikes, not sure how many can be setup on the 500. Maybe the only disadvantage is that the 800 is bigger/bulkier.
