  1. At least it gets addressed - this is much more than what happens at most events. Everyone is much safer that way.
  2. There is unfortunately also the fact that sometimes the slower or dropped riders taking up road space towards the right or middle of the road forcing either the catching bunch or group to squeeze past on the left or have to take avoiding action and hence riding in places they shouldn't to avoid having to climb on the brakes... Should there not be (isn't there) a rule to keep left and pass right? Think a plea needs to be made on the day to all riders to stay left if they are slow or dropped as to ensure their own safety without road closure and the safety of the other cyclists. I am not ranting just requesting and pleading for it to please be made abundantly clear to all on the day.
  3. I hope my swollen knee goes down and I can actually use my mtb and road entries... holding thumbs!
  4. I am currently flirting with 5 but will sell my old roadie and get an lightweight XC race bike.
  5. wish GP had some scenery other than dry grass....
  6. My hardtail... sorry I mean roadbike. Love this girl... my wife is jealous of the time I spend on her (the bike)
  7. pro racers don't need water bottles... they not out there long enough to need a bottle... looking at that Silverback it could suit a pro racer perfectly since I don't see where a bottle would fit on the frame... Then again they might clamp a seatmount bottle holder to the dropper post...pro racers don't use camelbacks do they?
  8. I heard he is the epic's official camera man bringing us the footage from the leaders on his unicycle so his hands are free to operate the camera.
  9. nobody likes a show-off... Can't even imagine the power output that took....
  10. I am also going to test with Shova and Satellite in the coming weeks. Some lekke races coming in the build up to 94.7
  11. I started with the charity groups last year which was better than QQ seeding. I then sat with a slower buddy till he couldnt anymore and then went on my own from halfway down the M1. Finished in 3:30ish in my first 94.7. This year I Will sub 3 no opt out option for me. 50% is training, 25% is all the other stuff. But the last 25% is HTFU and believe in yourself - raw will power
  12. Think I will do the double too... just got to sort my entry now.
  13.
  14. If you find some let me know... looking for the same
  15. Oh and with the Giant branded brakes the cable clearance is ok though.
  16. I run 25c fortezza senso on zipp 303 non firecrest. Even the Giant brand brakes has an issue. The curve on the arm makes the arm touch the tyres. Had to fit a spacer behind the pads to make them stick out more. Even wider rims will be better as the top of the brake arms will be further away when the pads make contact. Or use 23c tyres.
  17. I like the Shimano brakes. I loved my XTRs as they operate nice and silent and plenty power too. XT is bulletproof and for the money the M8000 is fantastic. I have not tried the Hope and latest SRAM brakes and that's because all my other bikes are Shimano and use mineral oil. and they bleed easy too. Totally biased but I cannot fault Shimanos
  18. This has made my week... has been utterly entertaining... think he needs to keep us in suspense for another week or 2....
  19. some say he has had a long term fued with derailleurs because no-one derails his chain and that he doesn't use a chain guide as his chain wouldn't dare drop off...
  20. Some say EPO contains die muishond extract mixed in a 1:1 000 000 ratio
  21. I heard its just the size 11 pair that was on review that was in the giveaway... wouldn't have fit me anyway. "Our test size 11 shoes with cleats and some dirt/sweat weighed in at 580 grams each." - https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/gear/reviews/review-five-ten-kestrel-shoes-r4496?source=related
  22. Squirt. Nothing else I have tried works as well so sticking to it.
  23. sharpied??
  24. EXACTLY!!! - I think it would be a great combo. I am yet to try a Magic Mary 2.35 SS front and ONZA Ibex 2.4 front and the Maxxis minions and high rollers - not very available... The Hans Dampf is ok but not great front and the Vigilante is GOOD - just needs a bit more beef.
