  2. He was the guy with the big ears and found dead from overdose drugs... But then again he was one of the most exiting bikers to watch ever He also happen to be one of cycling's best pure climbers But Mampara I'm sure you know that
  3. Where can I find the rules re TT in SA i.e. saddle/ BB distance, saddle to handlebar drop, aspect ratio's, etc For Ironman there's no such rules and I ride very steep and very low in front, so I'm not sure it's legal for road TT's And please don't refer me to UCI. I don't want to read 500 pages for the 2 relevant paragraphs O yes and I can't read french Thanx
  4. I hope you use this baby for the sunday group rides Saddle is nice touch. I remember rooting for Pantani vs Indurain in the Giro in '93 & '94

  8. For what it's worth, I've got the Merida 903 2008 with Tiagra groupo and shima 500 wheelset. Bought it new but now use it as training bike I've been very impressed with it (my other bike is an orbea orca with full DA but still love riding my merida even on long days)
  9. Shot, that makes sence. My STI's are working fine, no prob, but little bit of play. After some investigation it seems to be only the right hand side. A mate of mine suggested it is the brake cable that is slightly loose that causes it to feel like "play" i.e. if you pull the brake lever it has slight free movement before you actually pull the cable SO I think that is my problem...a dumb loose cable and I'm actually blaming the sti's intestines Thanx for the advise, I would still like to be able to service my own sti's when it does become necessary
  10. Nice to see SA champs getting coverage on cyclingnews http://www.cyclingnews.com/road.php?id=road/2009/mar09/sanationals09/sanationals091 Also an article of the up comming MTB race
  11. So are we gonna see any of these young guns following in Cancellara's footsteps? Surely hope so
  12. "Siiiick Raleigh P3!....." race70, you're right. it is a Raleigh TT frame 2009 model. a vroomen.white.design Looks almost like dimpled mavics aswell - also new 2009 stock (but I could be wrong one this one...pic not that clear)
  13. o well this was my view this morning
  14. Man I'm sorry I missed that one. Was still dark when I got home (and sweating like crazy - VERY high humidity this morning)
  15. Is it posible to replace various bits of shimano sti guts. My 7800 sti's have the slightest of play in them just from normal use over a season or so i.e. they start to rattle on the road if my hands are not on the hoods. Can one replace some spring or gadget inside the seamingly complicated guts slowtwitch2009-03-12 03:30:01
  16. Delgado, that is one classy look, well done
  17. I think they should ban the ladies from riding with helmets and shades...will draw bigger crowds to races

  19. You guys are crazy using that abrasive stuff on carbon.
  20. No takers on that Merckx yet?
  21. Deep section wheels are faster period. There's enough studies done as proof. Astana, I don't think the guys in CT riding DSW are the idiots And yes, yesterday was extreme and your bike handling would have suffered because thereof But under any "normal" high wind conditions DSW will be faster - just as a disc is always faster unless you're doing huge climbs during a TT Check out what John Cobb or Steve Hed or any of the windtunnel guru's say
  22. Can't agree more. Defnitly on par with cyclingnews quality!!!! Well done
  23. Holy roller you're talking price fixing Nobody is promoting that in this forum
