  1. Cyclingnews had an good review of the white industries ENO: http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?id=tech/2004/reviews/white_ind_eno_eccentric_hub $160, ouch!!! that's steap
  2. Sorry Mintsauce, you're right did not see that I'm just so desperate to make a vertical drop out frame work as a fixed gear
  3. Ok I found this cool fixed gear site: fixedgeargallary.com There is a post of a Bianchi and the guy said he used :"Rear hub is a flip-flop fixed/fixed by Novatech with some random rims" So what is that and how does it work i.e. no tension jockey used for vertical drop out frame, is it still like a track bike then? see picture below
  4. Change to Dura Ace
  5. Forget the training tyre Use a old tyre that's laying around or a dirt cheap new one - will probably last a season or 2. They do become squere after some time, but who cares Better than the training tyre cause you can then just leave it on your training wheel for outdoor rides rather than having to buy a dedicated rear wheel with a special/ expensive training tyre on (or change tyres every time you want to hit the road)slowtwitch2009-04-07 06:50:49
  6. They like the 7800 shifting better than 7900 - also to do with their new cheese cranks&blades Also 7900 have those openings in the STi's for dirt and muck to git into - not good for northern classicsslowtwitch2009-04-07 06:36:28
  7. Windblown those are good quality pics. Well done
  8. Did shimano missed the boat in its latest version? From cyclingnews - Tour of Fladers:"The Cerv?lo TestTeam started out the season with Shimano Dura-Ace 7800, then switched to 7900 only to revert back."
  9. See how easy 45k's/hr is solo...Bjorn Anderson
  10. Following distance is 10m i.e. no slipstream and they've got ref's on motorbikes monitoring this and giving out red cards (penalty tent) for violations. But remember that IM routes are generally much flatter than biker routes. But having said that, they do this 180k stint after 3.8k's of ocean fun and they take the bike reletively easy ...cause the race only start with 10k's to go of the 42 in the run...that's when IRONMAN STARTS!!!
  11. Well 180k's - wind or no wind 40-42k's per hour - 4hr20min to 4hr35min. enen 4h17min I've seen Give RT hills and he'll let you look like a couch potato's first time on the bike Some of the pro's ride Euro stage races in the off season. So trust me, they're quite capable of handling themselfs in road races
  12. Sorry Rabubi, you did not race Raynard the last couple of months in Vets did you? Come and race with us and you'll see for yourself. Last weekend after 8k's there were only 6 of us left in the front bunch And he does not wear those green and gold stripes on his cycle jersey for nothing
  13. Well if you can appreciate the saddle to handlebar drop on Bjorn's bike, you understand the drag/woman thing...you have to cut those parts out that used to squash on the saddle nose for 4-5hrs!!! and others do it in a speedo - thats why they talk like woman
  14. ok but here's a IM chick for u
  15. HR congrats But I thought 20k was it...and now you're carrying on posting? Maybe the goal has move to 30k
  16. So is it possible to cut out drop outs and weld back horisontal drop out's on a Alu frame (this sounds messy) Seems like single speed is gonna have to do I suppose?
  17. OK that's it!!!! I've been playing around with the idea of a fix gear for some time now, but Now is the time. I'm gonna build up a Cannondale early '90s in memory of my dad who was killed last year in a hit and run in Dbn. He bought a white 'dale new when they just landed in SA, I think 1990 and that was the bike he still rode till that morning. Can one build a fixed gear bike without horisontal dropouts, or do I have to go single speed (with jockey) Also can I use the BIO PACE cranks on fixie or do I need jockey (I think Iknow the answer)
  18. Agree not as nice paint job - black & white is clasical and always a hit
